Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[ proud as punch to preform her duties before her returned 'family', buffy grabbed a tall bottle of amber drink and poured it deftly into a low tumbler. ]

Feeling any more settled?

[The ice in her glass clinks as she slides onto one of the stools at the bar. Green eyes are alert and watchful as Natasha scans the interior of Good Spirits, taking in the unfamiliar faces as she does so. She hasn't been here in Luceti long, so the fact that most of the faces are still unfamiliar isn't a surprise.

Despite the careful observation she's giving the room, her posture is relaxed and comfortable as she leans back, legs crossed primly in front of her as she takes a sip of her drink. She doesn't try for being invisible - that's not going to accomplish anything, after all - so instead she settles for looking friendly and curious.

She'll wait and see who comes to her, instead.]

[grumbling]

"Settled" – I'm still wondering why my ass got hauled back here at all. [ mccoy harrumphs quietly to himself. ] Should go round and show my face at the clinic tomorrow. See if they need a country doctor on their roster.

[herotypical]

They'd better. [ buffy's voice drops to a whisper. ] I wouldn't trust anyone else more.

[grumbling]

Thanks for the vote of confidence. [ a faint smile appears on his lips. ] It's gonna be a hell of a job getting the hang of all the equipment again. Still seems medieval to me.

[The thing is, when Natasha wants to be noticeable, she's very noticeable and quite eye catching. So it's not a surprise that Steve's eyes land on her almost immediately when he walks into Good Spirits.

And he's surprised. But it's a good surprise. A very good surprise. The team is starting to come together. He crosses the room and takes the seat next to her, a grin blooming across his face.]

Fancy seeing you here, Agent Romanov.

[handing]

Thanks. [Pepper unrolls her own towel, laying it out next to Bucky's. At the mention of Steve, she smiles brightly to the other man.]

Pepper Potts, and I am. [She drops down onto the cloth, then leans over to offer a hand to Bucky.] Nice to meet you.

Ah, a mystery even to herself... [ That's deep, Grune. ]

Perhaps you'd like a drink to pass the time?

[Most faces, but not all: Pepper and Natasha have a bit of history, although most of that had come about while the agent had been masquerading as Natalie Rushman from Legal. Things have changed in the years since then, however, and Natasha is one of the ones who saved Manhattan with the newly formed Avengers. That's more than enough reason for Pepper to offer a genuine smile to the other woman.]

Good evening, Agent Romanov. Would you like some company?

[ SURPRISE

A small black cat hops up from behind the counter and finds himself in front of Varric. Oh.

Kuppuru here will sit and stare for a moment. Hi. ]

[Steve. Turning your puppy eyes on the Hulk so he'll shade you from the sun is probably an inappropriate use of your superpowers. And isn't his catch phrase something like 'smash'? Can we make this introduction from a distance?]

That's a shame. [He's only kidding. When Steve asks him about this place, he shrugs and turns to watch the water again, sunscreen mostly forgotten.]

It's... something. If we're gonna be lab rats I guess they gave us a nice cage. [He shakes his head. Everyone in this place is paying for the nice cage one way or another and 'it could be worse' doesn't really justify that. The thing is, experiments notwithstanding, he can't say 'it could be a lot better' either.

And then there's the part where he - they? - really should be dead but he's not bringing that up again.] I dunno, Steve. What do you think?

[ Cecil turns around, and when he sees the girl, he gives her a smile. ]

Yes, I do. It is a hobby of mine.

[She glances up when he sits down beside her, a smile curving over her lips. One that is honest, rather then forced, because its rather hard to be insincere with Steve Rogers.

That and there's genuine relief over the fact that here is a familiar face and one that is welcoming in return.]

Captain. I could say the same. I admit, I wasn't expecting to see you here. [Although it's evident that it's a pleasant surprise for her as well. She sets her glass down on the bar, swiveling to face him fully.]

I haven't been here long. It's been a bit of an... adjustment.

[Never let it be said that Steve Rogers doesn't know how to work things to his advantage. The puppy eyes are just a perk. And the Hulk isn't such a bad guy as long as you're not trying to hunt him down. :|]

A nice cage, that's one way to think of it. [It's actually a pretty good analogy for the situation really. When he's asked for his thoughts, Steve's expression sobers and there's a tension in his shoulders that belays his not-so-nice feelings about the place.]

I think the Malnosso are the worst kinds of cowards. Using us for whatever their reasons are in the name of science. Putting us in a place like this, almost like it'll soften the fact that we're prisoners. [Like the Mallies are telling them, 'We're going to use you in any way possible for our own gain, but here, have a paradise to live in between experiments.] At least during the war, neither side tried to pretend to be something they're not. When you're a prisoner, you know it without a doubt.

[Once Simba catches the rat, Vert smiles and suddenly speaks, giggling lightly to herself.]

Congratulations!

[The bartender comes around for his order and he asks for a glass of water. When it's once again just the two of them, he turns to face her fully as well.]

I wasn't expecting to be here myself. But we're not the one who decide who comes and goes. [There were a lot of things they didn't have a choice in here.]

That's understandable. I took me a couple of weeks to get settled. How much have you been told? Have you read the nifty handbook in the back of your journal?

Ms. Potts.

[It's said with a smile, green eyes glinting with faint amusement. She'd seen the woman approach, had tensed for the briefest of moments, but Pepper was smiling and relaxed, so she takes that as a good sign. Sometimes she's not sure what to expect when dealing with Pepper, since their start was somewhat unusual. Not to mention layered in intrigues, cover stories, and aliases. Most people didn't take being lied to so magnanimously.

Then again, most people would have never survived working for Tony Stark as long as Pepper Potts had, either. Even in her short time undercover, Natasha had come to respect and admire the other woman.

Natasha waves a hand to the empty stool beside her in invitation.] I'd love some, actually.

[jamesbarnes]

Not a problem at all. [Yup, she's friends with Steve. The 100-watt smile says it long before she does, and Bucky grins just a little at that. He's got mixed feelings about it to be honest, but for the most part he's glad people are finally giving Steve a chance. And that Steve has talked to (more than one) beautiful dame all by himself.]

Had a feeling. James Barnes. [He sits up to shake her hand.] Likewise, Ms. Potts. We're still kinda catching up so I can't say Steve's told me much about you yet... Which is a shame, because I'd definitely like to know about you.

Yes, thank you. That would be very nice.

[Her lips quirk in wry amusement.] It was the only thing I woke up with, out in the woods. I suppose that's a good thing, since I took a moment to read it instead of using it to assault the first person I came across. [Which, granted, had been her other viable option before she'd opened it looking for notes or orders or something to explain how she'd gone from being asleep in her bunk to waking up in the middle of the woods.]

I wasn't sure how much to believe, to be honest. Of course, this isn't generally the sort of chaos the supervillains of the world get up to. Explosions, world domination, mutants, aliens... those are one thing. Waking up with wings? [She pauses and motions to the offending appendages in question, a look of skeptical exasperation crossing her face.] That's just crazy.

[dickmoves]

There's no problem! There's just nothing to do.

[handing]

[Once they've formally greeted each other, Pepper settles a bit more comfortably onto her towel, shifting so that she's sitting up with her legs bent in front of her. She's got a bag with her, and she pulls out a bottle of sunscreen so she can lather some on.

Her grin widens when James both introduces himself, then makes a pass. It's both very polite and very blatant, which amounts to something kind of cute in the end, and Pepper could imagine most people going for it.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that history lists James as a war hero.]

Just Pepper is fine. And I'm sure we'll both get to know each other pretty well. Are you staying with Steve and Howard?

[jamesbarnes]

[Who could say that? People who've never met Steve? And he'll... take your word for it. Remember when he used to introduce you to pretty girls, Steve? Giant green rage monster = not the same thing. (Not that you aren't pretty, Hulk!)]

[He nods, listening.] I'm not gonna argue with that. The Malnosso are cowards, but most bullies are, right? [There's a brief half-smile that doesn't reach his eyes.] I haven't met a lot of people yet but some of 'em aren't even soldiers. They shouldn't be in a place like this.

[Bucky draws one of his knees up to his chest too and wraps his arms around it loosely, still not looking at Steve.] Which is one of the reasons I'm glad things aren't like the war, to be honest. It might not be as clear-cut but I'll take the lies over any of these people being worked to death for HYDRA while they mess with us.

Call me Bucky, then. [Pepper's got a pretty great smile, just a little mischief in it, and he's starting to think he'd like to get into plenty of trouble with a girl like her.

He raises his eyebrows at the question, the gesture more suggestive than curious. He wants to see where this is going.] Yeah?
