Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

I'm Grune! It's very nice to meet you. What's your name?

[My, he really does look cold. They should find him something warm to wear very soon.]

[Spock has barely known Grune for two minutes, and yet he finds the expression on her face makes him apprehensive and curious as to what actions she might take...]

I am Spock. Do you know where I might find suitable garments?

Oh, yes. There are lots and lots at the clothes shop. Why don't we get some together?

[She gives him an encouraging smile.]

I am amenable to that suggestion as long as it is not an inconvenience to you.

[Spock gets up from his stool and stands at attention next to Grune. He waits patiently with his hands clasped behind his back, stiff and imposing (normal Vulcan look). Compared with Grune's 5'9", Spock's 6'2" gives him a towering look.]

[...That was a yes, wasn't it? She's just going to assume so.]

Oh, no, I don't mind at all!

[Grune usually wears heeled boots, but even if she didn't, poor Spock wouldn't be too towering to her--not when she has several friends approaching seven feet tall.

And here is where Spock's apprehension is justified, because Grune? Is holding out her hand for him to take. Yes.]

[Spock waits for a moment before he realizes that Grune is actually holding out her hand. It would seem that he is expected respond to this gesture. He should not be surprised, because he can safely assume that she does not know anything about his Vulcan physiology.]

I... appreciate the gesture, however I hope you do not take offense if I do not follow through with such an action. I am a touch telepath, therefore my hands are... sensitive. I will merely follow you to our destination.

[This is about as placating as a Vulcan can get...]

[Grune gives him a bit of a curious look, but she lets her hand drop back to her side. She doesn't sound offended or even slightly put out when she says:] All right. It's over this way.

[She leads him to the door--slowly.]

[Curious... Spock was, how they say, 'waiting for the other ball to drop'. Grune's reaction was not exactly what he was expecting... indeed, he did not know what to expect. Slightly shivering, Spock follows closely behind Grune.]

[Once they're outside, Grune asks:] Have you found a home yet?

It would seem that I am at present without residence. However, I deem that it will not take long to rectify my current 'homeless' situation.

[Spock looks at Grune and asks...] Do you have a permanent residence in this place?

[A/N: I can't wait for Grune to dress Spock... XD]

Yes, that's right. I live in House 34! [From the automatic way she give the information, it's quite clear somebody (AKA Fenimore) had to pound this into her head.]

[OOC: This should definitely be good. :Db]

[eyebrow-raise]

Indeed. Is it a safe assumption to conclude that you do not live in 'House 34' alone? Who are your caretakers? Do they know your current location?

[Spock has become aware of Grune's simplistic nature and is ... mildly concerned for her well being. Does she have parental guardians? Does she have their consent to be out with someone who is essentially a stranger? Since entering this world Spock has been emotionally stressed and has not yet had the opportunity to meditate to center himself. His concern is unfounded, Grune is a consenting adult... however Spock does not have all the facts, he could be wrong.]

Also, is our destination much farther? The temperatures outside are much lower than inside our previous location.

Oh, my friends are Norma and Fenimore and Walter and Sophie. We all live together!

[At his last question, she gives him a smile, intending to reassure him.]

No, it's very close. [Pause.] I think.

[Eyebrow-raise]

Grune, your statement leaves me to believe that you are not positive as to where we are going... in other words, are we lost?

Oh, no, I know exactly where we are.

[She beams again. This...may not inspire a lot of confidence.]

[eyebrow-raise seems to be permanent...]

...Indeed. May I inquire as to your species of origin?

[And here's where things get interesting, because....]

Oh, yes. Moro says I'm a spirit.

[Both eyebrows have decided to take residence in Spock's hairline...]

A 'spirit' implies many possibilities... mostly supernatural in nature. Under what category of 'spirit' do you fall under? Also, your statement implies that you yourself do not know exactly what you are. Is this true?

[It is obvious that Spock's curiosity has been piqued.]

Yes, that's right. [She's speaking in exactly the same tone as before with no changes at all. She's just as calm and unconcerned as when she first said hello to him.]

Moro said that I'm a force, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do yet. I hope I can find out.
