[Everyone might be nice here that he could tell, but he's never gonna be entirely comfortable living in a place without his own special brand of protection around it.

The shops thankfully have what he needs and he sets himself up near the fountain in the square, a multitude of coloured threads wrapped around his fingers in some kind of pattern only understood to himself.

Every so often he pauses and lets a dab of power run through them, weaving the spell along with the threads.]

[Were those threads glowing? Maybe if he took off his shades more often he'd see things more clearly.]

...Never knew glow-in-the-dark sweaters were a thing. Learn something new every day.

[As for the question:]

Sure you don't need me to figure something out - aren't you the creative one?

[He can think of a number of terrifying things, thanks, but doesn't really understand what this is for.]

...Sure.

I'll tell you what's terrifying. Forgetting where you parked your car in a jammed parking lot larger than a football field.

[Some would argue that's more annoying as fuck than anything else, but anyway, it's not his intentions to go grim on this guy with war stories, and right from the start.]

I'd tell you I'm glad to help, but I have no idea what my input is going towards. Call it a hunch, but it doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would inspire a knit pattern.

[He's not following.]

From what I can tell, this place seems pretty safe for the most part when the Malnosso aren't screwing around at their control panel. [Then, with a lighter, joking tone:] Who'd you piss off?
