there is no place quite like this place if we get it on the go

the luceti test drive meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Do not speak of him in such a manner. He... he deserves your respect. [And she knows that Greed does. She knows it. But it wasn't a matter to push now.]

I think you have enough weapons. You should find a place to stay first, so you know where to put them.

[Claude doesn't seem too put off by this reaction, though. Maybe she's just quiet?]

It's a nice night, isn't it? You can see the stars really well.

Is it quite so obvious? [he laughs.] Yes this one woke in the snow only a short time ago. The voices in the book said to come here.

Is it...very common that books speak, in this place?

Just the one book, [She gestures to the journal with his name on it!] It is one of the more useful souvenirs our captors have seen fit to leave us with, as you can see. Everyone here has one, and it is used as a means of communication among the residents of the village.

[He has a strange way of talking because he is the ultimate special snowflake who laughs in the face of translatable pronouns.

And speaking of snowflakes, more seem to be falling now. He hurries them to the Item Shop and stamps off the snow before opening the door. It's blissfully warm inside...at least, compared with the storm outside.]

This one is marrying a dear friend who has helped him through many trials over the past year. [He starts to laugh.] This one is sure that she will have very strong words for him when she notices the absence. [And poor Yahiko will have to take the brunt of them until he gets home. And he will get home. He's determined.

He gives the a gentle smile.]
Thank you. That is most kind.

...You don't seem very surprised that there may be other worlds. Are they very common, where you're from?

[One person isn't surprised to find Koromaru wandering out alone. He's more than capable of taking himself for walks, even if it's more fun to do it together.]

Are you cold? We should probably get inside soon... [Even a fur coat isn't perfect when the temperature starts dropping this low.]

[Mulder nods grimly. That's something about this place that's never sat well with him- there's too much that they just don't know, and haven't been able to uncover yet.]

That's what I'm afraid is happening, off in their lab, behind closed doors. They're still withholding a great deal of information from us... Not only are they playing god, they're doing so on a scale that we've never seen before. Many of the other prisoners here come from other planets and universes far removed from ours.

[And he'd thought it was a big deal when he realized the international reach of the Consortium. That was nothing compared to this.]

I'll take your word for it. [He quirks his eyebrow in a curious manner, but the smile remains.]

To venture a guess would risk putting a jinx upon ourselves, I think. However, with residents such as Stark and even my brother I feel inclined to doubt we'll be at ease for very long.
worldsaway: (You don't say)

[personal profile] worldsaway 2012-12-22 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
You believe so? I am most flattered. I can't imagine mincing my words, so I suppose bodes well for me if others find it pleasant.

I find that hard to believe, Alex. [She seems a noble sort.]

I've not heard of Delaware, is it located in Midga-- Earth?

Our parents are the ones who shape us, afterall. Perhaps such strong family pride is an Asgardian custom. We are inclined to inform others of where our loyalties lie and where our roots have begun.

[A nod.] My name is that of my father's, and I am proud to be known as such.

[ She seems to understand for the most part. Things have become so strange, that the only strange thing to her would be if everything were the textbook definition of normal.

Marita is certainly smart enough to recognize when the stakes are raised. ]

You seem as unsurprised as I am to find each other here, which tells me this is not uncommon. Is there anyone else here... from our world?

[Scenario A There is a geth wandering the perimeter of the village, keeping a bit of a distance from the organics in case they considered it a threat. It had no weapons to defend itself after all, so provoking the inhabitants was not a good idea. For the time being, it was at least keep itself occupied with the primitive looking journal it was given on arrival. Further study showed the journal was more than it seem, but...how was it working? Why couldn't It communicate with the actual system? This is going to puzzle It for a while.]

[Scenario B A week or two has passed since Legion's initial arrival and It had gotten somewhat more comfortable walking around the village. Most of the time though, It was in the battle dome. Although the dome was meant to train people, Legion was far more curious about the workings than actually running it. Legion can be seen standing in front of the controls, looking up at the screen as it flipped through the options. Interestingly, It wasn't using the actual controls of the machine. It was like the Battle Dome was just doing it on its own.]

[Scenario C In the village plaza today, Legion is found standing idly by the fountain. It could have been a statue for all anyone knew, except for the part where the head would suddenly moved whenever an individual walks by. It didn't do this to everyone, but to certain inhabitants that were...well considered fictional, nonexistent, proportionately incorrect where Legion was from. You don't exactly see dragons, elves, demons and what nots back home, even in the wide space of the Milky Way Galaxy.]

It is so nice to meet a proper gentleman here, Major. [She looks back, smiling a little more.] I confess I am... quite unused to the... I should almost call it indifference... that I have found myself commonly treated with here.

It's kind of you to say so, Miss Long. And although I have no grand family tree nor a fashionable name, I have my dignity. [ my honour. ] And as I understand it, there are many proper gentlemen who don't even have that.

So mayhaps I'm alright.
