there is no place quite like this place if we get it on the go
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Angus gives an unhappy whuff of disapproval at her tone - because she says it like she really means it, and who knows how long that could take.]

[She just grins back at him, launching one last arrow and turning Angus around to give the course another go. As she rides, she swings her bow around her shoulder and pulls a handful of arrows from her quiver, using the tip of one to set a notch in the rest, so she'll know which arrow is from the second round.]
Race you back to the start!

[He gives a boisterous laugh as he turns his own horse around to race alongside her.]

Aah! Angus, not again...!

[He gasps the moment he sees Angus slipping, and he kicks into the horse to get more speed out of it, but with a little it of slipping there, too. It becomes evident as he draws near that this wasn't as serious as he first thought, but he still calls to her.]
You alright, lass?

[She gives her sore nose a rub, wiggling it a bit as she draws her hand away, and waves off her father's concern. Angus glances over his shoulder at her, neighing quietly, but she mock-punches his neck and guides him to back off from the rock.]
Maybe a bit less jumping in this snow, hm?
no subject
[He still reaches over to give her a comforting pat when he's close enough.]
Yer mother would say we should take it slow from here on. [He says as if just repeating her words and mulling over whether or not they should be followed.]

[Merida is quiet for a moment, guiding Angus slowly back onto the path at a casual pace- and then, without warning, kicks her heels and takes off at a run, grinning over her shoulder.]
I'm not my mother, and neither are you!
no subject
C'mon back here, ya wee devil of a lass!
no subject
[She doesn't look back at him this time, though- she learned her lesson from last time. She guides Angus quickly but more carefully through the snow, intent on keeping her lead until they reach the starting position. Winning isn't everything, but it does feel awfully nice.]
no subject
C'mon, you were goin' a lot faster when ya thought she was in trouble! Can't ya just do that normally?
[But he's not pressing the horse too hard. At least this time the horse is able to clear enough ground to make her lead somewhat less dramatic.]

[It's true, though- she'd ridden faster than this, even if the ground had been a little more sturdy then. She can be foolhardy, but she's not stupid- and she's not keen to get thrown off Angus's back again.
...Still, a bit of speed won't hurt. She gives another slap of the reins to urge him further, and he whinnies, picking up the pace. Almost there...!
