Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

C: Stalking around outside the bar. Not really stalking, exactly, but when he sees you he might bound up to you and get a little too close. What are social norms???]

[Akihisa wasn't expecting an elf-looking person attempting some drawing. He can't see what the other's drawing, so curiosity gets the better of him as Akihisa walks up to you.]

Hey, what are you drawing?

Haha. Not drawing, just attempting.

[He holds out... some very warped images of people and animals. Oh, and huge butterflies. And literally everything has eyelashes.]

See? Attempting. I think the eyelashes give them character...

[Akihisa takes a look at the drawing. Oh, okay, attempting does fit better. Although... What was he drawing? A person? He could vaguely see a face...]

Eyelashes?

[And then he see them. OH THERE'S THE EYELASHES]

Oh! Yeah, I think it does too! Ahahah...

[Mmm sudden awkward. Akihisa's already kicking himself mentally for making such an idiotic remark so early in the conversation.]

Mm― here. [He starts going through and indicating all the eyelashed beings. But then this new person sees, so...!]

Uh? ... What is it? [No need to worry about awkward with this one.]

You sound ... worried.

Worried? Nah, I'm not worried! [He brings up his hands in front of himself to wave them.]

It just took a while to see the eyelashes, that's all, it wasn't like I wasn't sure what I was looking at, nope!

[He just...spilled his beans. He smacks his face for that.]

[Noda happens to be around the target practice area, on his way to a secluded place so he could train with his halberd. When he realizes there's someone there, he stops for a moment to watch Karuika practice on his bow.

He stays quiet, since he doesn't want to distract the other.]

[A little observation would reveal that... despite the stereotype of elves (or elven-looking people) being amazing sharpshooters, Karuika is only average. Not terrible, but not able to shoot a perfect hit each time either.

But he does notice that purple head of hair.]

Is it fun? To watch. [... Huh. That guy has a halberd, doesn't he?]

[Noda was knowledgeable with the stereotypical elf class for some RPGs, but he already had learned the hard way not to confuse the two worlds. Unless they say they're elves, Noda wasn't going assume they're one... much.]

Fun? Not exactly. Just happened to catch my attention at the moment.

[He then gestures towards the other's bow with a nod.] You use that against moving targets before?

Once or twice. [It's a lie, but it comes so naturally that it would be hard to tell. It's far more than once or twice.]

Wh...y? Have you used your massive polearm against a live target? [Pause. He looks down, then away.]

Do you... channel anything through that?

Of course. I've even killed the same person a hundred times before.

[He gives a smirk, like he's proud of it. Why wouldn't he... And then he looks clueless at the second question.]

Channel? As in the chakra, special powers channeling?

[Holy crap. Strange young man with weird hair (What is with that here?) and pointy ears; Hi. You are almost invading his personal bubble.]

Uh, very nice?

[Certainly cleaner and more well-lit than most of the bar's he's been in, which is a plus.]

[Yeah, he's like that. He just doesn't really realize (or seem to care).]

Nice? That tells me nothing. No, no, specifics. Is the food greasy and cheap?

Bars are... good for information, usually. How does this one rate?

Evan's not one to talk, his sense of personal space is rather skewed too. But still, wow. Kinda close.]

Oh, specifics. Foods good and free. They have sandwiches and salads and stuff. Oh and a pretty decent grilled cheese. They also have a selection on non-alcoholic drinks which is nice.

Well, this place isn't exactly swimming in information... I guess it depends on the information you're looking for? For information about Luceti, people are willing to talk. Other stuff, well, I'm sure there are some people who'll talk.

[The closest. And he doesn't show any sign of backing up... What do?]

Perfect. So maybe not everyone is falling over themselves. Silver lining? And perhaps they have a good dipping soup for the grilled cheese...

[But it had not occurred to him that someone might... actually want to know what he was up to. He shifts from foot to foot, peering over at the bar.]

People don't respond well when I ask them questions. Well―

Usually they do not. I want to know ... about this place. And I want to know about the people here― without just asking them.

[Options are: Ignore, Gently push away, or step back. Processing... Evan chose ignore.]

I didn't ask. Probably should have, nothing beats a grilled cheese with tomato soup.

[....Really? You don't say. Evan's mouth quirks into a wry smile.]

Well, first of all, you probably shouldn't stand so close. Most people don't like that. [Evan's a weirdo. Do not look to him to follow social norms.] As for questions about this place, there is a guide in the journals. And most people don't mind questions about Luceti.

[The last comment just gets a quirk of the eyebrows.]

Why don't you just observe the journals then? A lot of people post in them and you can learn about people that way if your uncomfortable asking questions. [Which you obviously aren't, because hello! Asking a complete stranger about the bar probably means it's not the asking of questions that gets you nervous.]

[Huh. Grilled cheese and tomato soup sounds great...]

I am not that close. [Uhh, so he says. Most would beg to differ.] Am I? [Oh yeah, totally looking at you for social advice, Evan. And playing dumb.] I only stepped in to get your attention. It worked, and here we are.

Consider it, how do you say... um. Extending the olive branch of friendship? Or something like that.

You kind of are. I mean, I've lived in Eastern Asia and Europe most of my life, so I don't mind too much, but I know most other people have a larger bubble of personal space. And while it's an effective way to get people's attention, once you have it you can back off a bit. Usually they won't run away. [Unless you have a knife or something in your hand. Ha, Evan giving a talk on social norms. If his friends could see him now... they'd be laughing hysterically.]

The olive branch is peace, but I get what you're saying.

[Evan looks amused a moment before getting his out of the bag he had at his hip. You might notice then, if it had escaped notice before that Evan only had his right arm. Surprise?]

Yeah it does. It's used to communicate with others in the village.

[So he takes a step back. Good job, Karu.]

I was not wrong though. I had a feeling you wouldn't lash out. Or maybe you would! But I would not approach if I didn't have the sense to get out if it, uh. Ended poorly. You know. [The olive branch was peace? Oh. Good to know...]

O...h. I... guess that―? No, what does an olive branch have to do with either of those things? It makes no sense. None of it.

Lived your life in ... other... places, huh? [What is an Asia or a Europe? Karu can only infer that Asia and Europe might be towns or countries or something not home. And indeed, he noticed the arm previously, but he wasn't about to point it out in public. Not when he carries some nasty scars himself.]

How about a trade? I can pretend to buy you lunch since there seems to be no money here in exchange for hearing about Europes and Asias.
