Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

The Dark One | Avatar: The Last Airbender

[The Dark One is wandering down one of the main thoroughfares of Luceti's village in his sulking and gloomy way. A rain cloud can practically be seen hovering over the his head as he kicks a stone.]

I hate wings.

[He mutters this lowly as he watches the pebble bounce and roll away from him.

He then decides to sit down by the fountain, taking the book he'd come here with and opens it. Looking it over, he sighs and shut it again forcefully.]

I hate journals.

[Not exactly off to a good start here in Luceti.]

[Then here comes the welcoming wagon. In the form of Aang riding by on his air scooter. He scoots on over the moment he recognizes him and waves cheerily.]

Hey, you're one of Toph's students!

[soulofapoet]

[The Dark One's hair ruffles a little as a small puff of air comes at him upon Aang's decent. This makes him look up and stare.]

You're the Avatar.

[Excuse him. He's lost his poetic inspiration after having been brought here. He's back to his gloomy old self.]

Yep... that's me! [He dissipates the air scooter, undeterred by his grim demeanor. He's not too familiar with The Dark One, if anything primarily getting a brief introduction sometime after the battle.] What's your name again, by the way?

[The same goes for him. He remembers meeting the the Avatar but couldn't exactly say he knew him personally.]

I go by...

[A small pause for dramatic effect.]

The Dark One.

[savedtheworld]

Oh. [Blink... Then return of the cheery smile.] Hello, Dark One! How are you doing?

[How is he doing? How. Is. He. Doing?! ... The Dark One's shoulders slump.]

My soul is unbearably dark this dismal day.

There, there, Dark. [He says with a frown, trying to pat him on the shoulder.] Let's find something fun to do and brighten that soul up!

The light of the sun will never banish the shadows residing in the depths of my black heart.

[Yeah, good luck with that Aang.]

Now that's not a good attitude! Sure, we're all stuck here, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun! C'mon, follow me!

[The Dark One is not convinced. He then heaves a sigh and rises from his seat.]

...

[Fine. Lead on oh airy one.]

[Aang beams at the Dark One and starts to guide him through the plaza.]

So! What do you do for fun?

You and me both. [Don't mind Jake sitting on the bench beside the Dark one, a brown bag on hand. Looks like he had just gone shopping]

Matter of fact, this whole place sucks.

[Folding his arms across his chest, The Dark One doesn't even look up as someone sits next to him. But hark... someone who thinks as little of this place as he?]

Yeah.

[He then looks over at the guy with masked curiosity.]

Who are you?

Jake. [He pulls out an apple and tosses up it in his hand a few times.]

You?

[That's a very normal sounding name. ]

I call myself The Dark One.

[...So he was about to eat said apple, but he's going to give "The Dark One" a look.]

"The Dark One"? Are you trying to sound like a badass or something with that one? [Because it's not working on Jake]

[The Dark One looks a little indignant at that.]

It reflects the nature of my very being. It is an honorable name.

[In other words, yes.]

Riight. [He can't take this seriously.]

Whatever you say "Dark one".

[The Dark One stands up, clutching his head with both hands and yelling at the top of his lungs.]

ARGH! Why can't anyone see that "The Dark One" is a cool title perfectly befitting of myself! Where is the ability to choose? To express oneself without mockery!

[Its much better than his real name anyway!]

And just what do you think you're doing, you lily liver?

[Just sitting around? Oh, no, that is not going to pass. Toph crosses her arms disapprovingly.]

[Snapped out of his brooding revelry by a very familiar voice, The Dark One looks up. He quickly stands up.]

Sifu Toph!

[Despite his gloomy... gloominess, his respect for his teacher has not diminished!]

[metalbends]

[Humph. Well at least he hasn't forgotten who can totally boss him around.]

Look, if you've got time to sit around and whine, you better have practiced your metalbending for today!
