Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Scenario 1:

[ So, strolling through town is a girl in the typical New Feather gown. She walks on her toes, as the ground is cold -- everything is cold -- and she's trying to move quickly, obviously frozen to the bone. ]

Did they have to take everything? [ Murmured, with some irritation. ] They could have left my jacket...

[ Hey, is that some ice? It sure is. Aerith slips and falls painfully with a yelp, though -- with serious determination -- she's on her feet again in a moment, sore and a bit damp now but unstoppable. Help a lost woman out? ]

Scenario 2:

[ This would be a voice post about a week after she's settled in. ]

So! Hi, Luceti. I thought I should introduce myself, since it's been a couple of days since I arrived here. It's a lot different from the place I just came from! There's so much nature.... it's nice. I bet it's beautiful in the spring.

Oh! I should thank everyone who helped me. I really appreciated it! It was freezing when I woke up. Who do these Malnosso think they are, dropping people off in dresses and no shoes? Not to mention sticking wings on everyone. Why wings? They seem like they should be sort of fun, or even just pretty, but they have this terrible purpose...

Then again, who can figure out what people like that think? All they want is to experiment and get results.

Sorry, sorry! I'm just rambling now. [ A quick giggle. ] Why don't we all introduce ourselves? That way I can get to know everyone better. My name is Aerith. How is everyone today?

Oh, by the way, is there a flower shop here?

[Kenshin is also new, but he has had the fortune of already acquiring his gear. He is walking around the town, trying to make sense of the world he's suddenly found himself in.

Expect to hear the occasional "oro?!" as he wanders around.

The rurouni sees a young woman slip and fall on the ice and immediately runs over to her. She's gotten up under her own power, but she looks even more frozen now than she was before.]

Are you all right, miss? That was quite a fall. [He removes his kimono top and holds it out to her.] This one doesn't mean to intrude, but please accept this until more suitable clothing can be found.

[ ... well then. She's not going to refuse outright kindness, so she takes the jacket -- or whatever it is -- gratefully and wraps it around her shoulders. Carefully, trying to fold her still-sore wings gently beneath it. ]

You're not intruding. Thank you! It's freezing out here. [ Makes a bit of a :T face. ] Can you please tell me where I am? I'm really lost, and I got separated from the people I was with... I don't know how, though. It must have happened really quickly!

[He gently puts a hand on her shoulder and starts walking her to the Item Shop, figuring that they'll both stay much warmer if they keep moving. It's a good thing they haven't got far to go.]

This one...is not entirely sure, to be honest. [He looks a little sheepish.] You see, this one only woke here a short time ago. However, from what information he has gathered, it seems this place is called Luceti. This one has encountered some who say that Luceti is a different world from our own, but that seems somewhat far-fetched. [At least until he takes the wings into account. He can't explain the wings.

He smiles gently.] This one is sorry that you were separated from your companions. Perhaps, once you've warmed up, we can go look for them?

...Though, the sudden separation seems to be a common thing here. This one...was on the way to his own wedding. [Kenshin tries to laugh it off, but it's a bit of a lost cause. He's not happy.]

[ The hand on her shoulder throws her off a little, but he isn't being threatening. Perhaps just a little overly friendly. Aerith accepts it for now, though will innocently dodge out from under it without seeming to mean to at the soonest opportunity.

What a strange way of talking he has. "This one"... he's referring to himself, isn't he? But why phrase it like that? How odd.

She does not seem at all surprised to hear that this is a different world, though. ]

You know, I thought it was a different world! When I woke up... something seemed different. Maybe it's not so far-fetched after all. [ She can't hear the Planet anymore.

Of course, the news that he's been torn away from his own wedding shocks her, and she stops walking, turning to face him with a look of sympathetic horror. ] Your own wedding?! That's terrible! I'm sorry... who were you marrying? I bet she misses you. [ Aerith that's not tactful. But she pauses, clasping her hands. ] You two will be together again, I'm sure of it.

[He has a strange way of talking because he is the ultimate special snowflake who laughs in the face of translatable pronouns.

And speaking of snowflakes, more seem to be falling now. He hurries them to the Item Shop and stamps off the snow before opening the door. It's blissfully warm inside...at least, compared with the storm outside.]

This one is marrying a dear friend who has helped him through many trials over the past year. [He starts to laugh.] This one is sure that she will have very strong words for him when she notices the absence. [And poor Yahiko will have to take the brunt of them until he gets home. And he will get home. He's determined.

He gives the a gentle smile.] Thank you. That is most kind.

...You don't seem very surprised that there may be other worlds. Are they very common, where you're from?

Well, if you two were going to get married, I'm sure she'll forgive you. Love is stronger than kidnappings! Or it should be.

[ Aerith pulls the jacket tighter around her shoulders, quiet for a moment after his question. ] It's not that. I guess you could say I just know!
