there is no place quite like this place if we get it on the go

the luceti test drive meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

C - Hey you. Davenport or no?

[The observation deck is the second best place to be, not only for a quick drink or snack, but to scope out everyone who might pass through the battledome. It's certainly revealed a large variety of abilities thus far. However, one particular person catches Ginia's eye and she watches the man train from above.]
onearmedexmerc: (a-okay)

Yes, Davenport!Evan forever.

[personal profile] onearmedexmerc 2012-12-24 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Evan was very interested in the battledome and had managed to figure out the controls fairly quickly. It was simply enough to set up a light training run and learn to compensate for his wings.

They actually made up for his lack of arm and prosthetic quite well in this case, flaring when his balance started to go and helping him regain it. At times they pulled him further off balance, but as the training run progressed he found himself getting more and more used to them.

It simple enough to switch from the light training testing to his more complicated moves which ends the training run very quickly indeed.]

Ha, Awesome.

[Evan picked up a towel he had liberated and wiped the light sweat from his face, grinning happily at the progress.

It was then he felt eyes on him from above. He turns and looks to see the woman observation deck. Something about her looks familiar....]

o7 Taking Ginia from post!death

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-12-24 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[The wings were one of the strangest things in the place and Ginia too had some trouble adjusting to them. There was the initial period of bumping them against something or backing up a bit too much, but she was adjusting. All the same, she could admit they were quite attractive.

She continued to watch the man train down below, scrutinizing every single move he made. They were all very familiar to her, but it didn't seem possible. It couldn't be possible, though that was a strange thing to say in a world that was impossible in itself.

When he looked up, Ginia continued to stare down. A hand pressed against the glass and she mouthed a single word.

'Phantom'.]
onearmedexmerc: (oh that's not good)

o7 Unsure yet what time Evan is from.

[personal profile] onearmedexmerc 2012-12-25 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
((ooc; For this thread though, after her death as well. >D ))

[Evan stared for a long moment before recognition dawned. But that was... that should have been impossible. But as she mouthed that single word he became certain. Eyes widened, the towel slipping from his hand before he turned on his heel, and sprinted out of the room, heading towards the observation deck at a relatively reckless pace.

It doesn't take Evan long to make it up to the observation deck, panting slightly as he stops at the top of the stairs.

He looks around, trying to spot Ginia again before zeroing in on where she was standing.]

Ginia? [The name is breathed out, something tight but hopeful carefully hidden in that breathless tone.]
shadedsunlight: (Don't let your aim ever stray)

*cackles*

[personal profile] shadedsunlight 2012-12-25 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[It would be easy enough to slip out of the room before he could get up there. Granted, the battledome is built poorly in her eyes - only one main entrance and exit and not enough hiding places - but she could slip out.

The fact is she doesn't want to. Even if this is some cruel joke, even if this is all a kind of limbo, she needs to see Evan again.

One last time.

If only to give a proper goodbye.

So she doesn't move. She turns away from the observation window and toward the entrance of the room, patiently waiting, hearing footsteps as they echo up. When Evan enters the room, Ginia reflexively smiles; partially out of habit and keeping up appearances, partially because she's truly happy to see him.]

/Hello, Phantom. Should I ask what name you're using here?/
onearmedexmerc: (a simple smile)

Mwahahaha!

[personal profile] onearmedexmerc 2012-12-25 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Any doubts Evan had were dispelled the moment Ginia talked to him. A huge, blinding smile broke out on his face, even as his eyes grew shiny.

He closed the distance between them and drew Ginia into a tight one-armed hug even as he pressed a brief, warm kiss to her temple.]

Evan. I'm using Evan.

[The comment about his name brought a pang to his heart even as he told her that he was using his real name. Cynthia always teased him about his names and now...

That thought was brutally crushed.]

It's so good to see you!

((ooc; For maximum evil, I am using the 'Cynthia-has-died' plot in his history after Ginia dies. This is when he's from.))

((Ooc: By the way, got your card! Thank you!))

[Ginia sinks a little into his hug, holding him tightly. Evan. Such a fluid man, but one of the better friends she could ask for. He was there in the end, at least she hoped so. Did Natalie and Jack even make it?]

/Evan. It's good to see you again. Very good. How are you? /
onearmedexmerc: (dark and mysterious)

((ooc; You're welcome! 8D Merry Christmas Eve!))

[The hug gives him a moment to regain his composure, even if his eyes are a little too bright as he looks at her.

Of course her question makes him pauses. To tell the truth or to lie... It's a hard choice at this moment.]

I've been better. I am better for seeing you. [His smile is softer now, bittersweet in fact.] So glad to see you... alive and well. [It had been hard, knowing Ginia had died. But he had had time to except that fact. To come to an uneasy peace with it. Seeing her alive should have been a rush of sheer joy. But seeing her had also brought the more recent death in his life into sharp relief from where it had been brutally suppressed.]

[Alive. A cruel word, though she knows he only means well. But if he was glad to see her alive...

Her face fell and she drew from him. What could she say to a friend that knew she was dead? The idea of different timeliness still threw her off. It brought some odd sense of relief he at least knew. They were hunters. They knew how to read between the lines and see what lay there, for better or worse. Usually worse.]

/Jack and Natalie, are they safe?/
