[There you are, in the Battle Dome. Trying to mind your own business and do a good day's worth of training. But this guy's too bored to let you do so in peace. As you train, he will sneer and smirk through the observation deck, as if aware of some fatal flaw in your training regimen that is invisible to you. Every time you look up to him, he's answering your latest move with a scoff or a small laugh. Sometimes even an indifferent shrug. And after your big show stopper? A yawn.

Whether you try to approach him or not, Jade Curtiss casually saunters over towards you when you're finally throwing in the towel. He prods his glasses up his nose before assessing you in person, showing every possible visible sign in his face that he is disappointed with your performance.

But he speaks in a casual, almost sing-song manner.]

My, my. Done already? And here I thought this facility was supposed to be used for challenges!

[Jade sits up in bed, impatiently poking at his journal while wearing just his signature bathrobe. It's been a week already since he came here - and since his peers from his world had to endure his tests to prove they were not replicas. Or in some cases, prove they were the same replicas he knew.]

This is Colonel Jade, Third Division, Malkuth Imperial Forces. I've been here a week now, but some matters are still pressing on my mind.

My, my. This welcome just keeps getting warmer. Perhaps only I imagined you running up to us with tears in your eyes, begging us for our friendship. [He rests his fingers on his chin, looking intentionally aloof as he goes on sarcastically.] I didn't think you had it in you, Asch.

[He gives a sneering grin. He's not looking for violence himself; but his own lance is at hand just in case his own jabs go south.]

Who could tell? This old brain likes to play tricks on me. It's not like such a friendship would have been mutual, either. Regardless, I am actually not here to pick a fight, as shocking as that may sound.

I merely seek to observe you, Asch, with my own eyes. Not for any reasons of sentiment, of course. It's just because it simply wouldn't do to settle for only hearing that you are here. Alive and well. Seeing you now may just suffice.

[Asch goes quiet for a moment at that; ugh, of course Jade would be from a time where he knows everything.]

And this seems enough for Jade to conclude that Asch does remember his own death. A little note to go down with the inconsistent memories of the others. He holds back from straightforward jabs; he may not see Asch as a friend, but there's respect on some level for what he has accomplished.]

I'd consider it to be worth than you do, at the very least. Although, as I gather from the peculiar nature of this place, that may no longer be the case, depending on how long you've been here and any number of variables which could have changed you in the duration.

[He doesn't trust Jade's motives, not in the slightest. Still, withholding answers won't get them anywhere either.]

I've been here for nearly five of this world's years, which is about two years in Auldrant.

This world does follow such a bizarre calender. [Of course, since he's been here so long, and Jade has not caught wind of much trouble yet, it assures him that Asch won't be stirring up something anytime soon.] I trust you've used such time wisely.
