Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[ Do you know what Luceti has been lacking on those quiet afternoons? Music. Boy Blue is changing that though; sitting on the edge of the fountain with his trumpet. He starts some of his more cheerful favorites, figuring a nice afternoon doesn't need any sad songs just yet. Just don't ask him to play Tijuana Taxi, he won't do it.

Feel free to bother this kid who's probably making it hard to get a nap, that trumpet gets some volume on it. ]


Action B

[ Blue is spending some time in the library, what with the lack of a comic book store he needs to get his comic book fix somewhere and this is it. He's sitting amongst the stacks with a pile of comic books that he's pretty sure are from another world. ]

Not sure the Un-Mundy can stand up to this kinda stuff...

[ Look out for the little blonde roadblock in the aisle, he's pretty darn absorbed. ]

What kind of stuff? [Elizabeth is behind said roadblock, holding several thick books in her arms and looking over his shoulder--or at least trying to. This looks like something she hasn't seen before! How exciting!]

Oh, uh. [ He holds up the comic book so she can see it better. ] Super heroes in an anachronistic setting mostly. Old west gunslingers with katanas and stuff like that. It's kinda fun.

B!

...katanas? [Elizabeth raises an eyebrow.] Is that a type of gun?

[The book looks very different from what she's usually read. More pictures, less words. A little like the few Duke and Dimwit short comics she'd seen. Those had always seemed a little boring though, and didn't have 'old west gunslingers'.]

A gun- No, no. It's a sword. [ He turns the page to show her a picture of a man in the middle of a desert with a sword in hand. ]

They're a weapon from Japan, and they have the bonus of looking cool.

B!

Oh! Like a rapier! [But from Japan. Elizabeth looks a little guiltily at the biochemistry books she's got in her arms--maybe she should be trying to fill other holes in her education. Other more obvious holes that were intentionally left out.]

[She crouches down next to him to see better.] That does look cool... Though if he's a gunslinger, why does he need a katana too? Just to look cool?

B!

Oh it's a little different from a rapier. [ He pulls a pen out of his pocket as a prop. ] A rapier is more for thrusting attacks. [ Like so, jabbing the pen forward into an imaginary enemy. ] A katana is for more slashing attacks. [ Another demonstration. ]

Well he's out for revenge and he's saving his gun for killing one specific person. So in the meantime he's fighting his way across the country with his sword.

Ohh... [Easy enough to understand, and Elizabeth supposes that if there are guns for various ranges, surely swords would be the same.]

So it's a revenge story. [She nods vaguely as she reads the bubbles, wondering what happened in the pages previous.] Like The Count of Monte Cristo. But with cowboys. [Sounds really cool...]

Pretty much. [ He holds out the first issue of the comic to her. ]

Wanna read the first issue? I've gone through a bunch of them already.

[Elizabeth looks at the comic, down at the book on physics in her lap, then decides that she's read a lot about physics in her life and that change was sometimes a good thing.] Sure! [Setting the heavy book aside, she takes the offered comic and sits down next to him.]

[She looks at the first page, takes a minute to glance everything over before asking:] So you just... read like a usual book, but each box is like its own sentence?

[Brass is a good, strong sound. Trumpets are really nice.

But it's also really making it really hard for her to catch an afternoon nap on the fountain. Hilda sits up, not quite irritated (it's hard to be with something so snazzy playing) but definitely fairly frazzled.]

You play nice. [Okay, that wasn't smooth at all. Try again.] I mean -- you play pretty well. But do you have to do it so loudly?

[ Blue lowers his horn and rubs the back of his head. ]

Is there a point to playing music quietly? It doesn't do anyone much good if it isn't heard.

[Jack was just on his library rounds for any mousy looking ladies in need of some attention, but he stops as he comes across Blue and his comics. He scratched his chin thoughtfully before slamming his hands on the desk.]

Blue! Have you seen any Jack Tales yet?

[hastheblues]

[ The slam jolts him and then he realizes it's just Jack. ]

Nope, and I haven't been looking either. I wasn't much of a fan, not like Fly or the cubs.

God. I wish you were Fly, sometimes.

[He stands up again and crosses his arms.]

I can't believe those suits are gonna make me buy my own damn movies and comics with their mission points.

Fly has more important things to do than be here.

[ He shrugs and closes the current comic he was reading, all cowboys and vampires and the like. ]

Are you really going to waste your points on that crap? The storylines were weak.

It wasn't the story. It was the characters. The emotion! The drama! We're talking about the highest grossing movies of all time.

[He huffs and spins around.]

This is why I didn't give you a cameo.

Yeah, thanks for that by the way.

[ He stays sitting, rolling his eyes at Jack's antics. ]

Your movies were just an ego boosting power play.

Yeah, duh. Doesn't mean they weren't great. If you want success, you've got to sell success.

And steal all the startup money from Fabletown.

I stole money that was essentially already stolen. Fabletown conspired to kill Bluebeard off- not that I miss the bastard, so they could get at his money. Well I took my share and invested it. And hell, Fabletown is getting rich off my hard earned profits.

That was never your money, you didn't have anymore right to it than anyone else. You abandoned Fabletown and if Beast hadn't tracked you down we never would have seen a cent of it. And then you got what you deserved.

[ He barely bites back what he wants to say. ] She only liked me when I was dying.
