Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

"I've been keeping all my stuff in a suitcase. It feels more homey that way." He had to find the suitcase first, but he'd lived his entire life out of a suitcase. Sometimes even less. When you lived your life as basically an international thief and grave robber, it didn't lend much to home life.

Homey. An odd word to associate with a suitcase, and yet -- "I know exactly what you mean."

Claire thought about procuring herself a suitcase. It might feel a little better than hanging the couple of spare outfits in an otherwise empty closet. The notion of transforming the space around her into something more hotel-like was quite appealing. "I just wish there were accommodations with a little less...empty space, you know? What I wouldn't give for a studio apartment instead of sleeping next to two empty rooms."

"You should bring it up with the management. Or maybe open up a bed and breakfast."

It was, of course, nonsensical. The idea of an inn where there were empty places to live all over the place, all for free, was rather absurd.

She fully intended to have a conversation with the management when the chance presented itself, but it wouldn't be about the lack of appropriate housing. It would be to question their motives as an organization and -- with equal parts hope and dread -- to demand whether they had any ties with Umbrella.

"I'll get right on that," she laughed. "Hey! Back on my first day I met a guy with excellent taste in cast-iron cookware, perhaps he can be trusted to form opinion on other breakfast-related paraphernalia."

"I wholeheartedly approve. There is a severe lack of eggs and bacon being served in the morning hours. And afternoon hours."

Naturally he didn't expect her to do any such thing. A woman who was always on the move and wary of superheroes was a bit more than your average person. But it was a nice though.

"This place has a restaurant, you know. I've been there. Don't tell me you've gone and got yourself blasklisted for backsassing the chef."

[blokeraider]

"The cook there is a gourmet. Five star material. There's no excitement in life if you're not ordering from a roadside diner where the eggs are undercooked and the bacon is bacon in name only."

[otype]

"...Wait, really?"

Disappointment flooded her voice. "There's not a single diner? I mean, I know there aren't any streets but I was hoping to see a few street food stands. I just figured it was still too chilly for them to be out..."

[blokeraider]

"I heard they converted a pizza place into a convenience store."

His tone was filled with mock betrayal.

"Oh, I don't care how friendly the locals are. There's no excuse for running a pizzeria out of town."

[blokeraider]

"Between you and me, I'm not so sure the people in this town are right in the head. All these so-called experiments have unhinged them."

[otype]

"...People can adapt to so many terrible situations. Only they don't always adapt in the best directions. These folks...?"

Claire shrugged. They were doing what they had to do to survive. Or what they believed they had to do.

"It's not just the roaches; this whole town could use a revolution."

[blokeraider]

"Be careful how loud you say that. I get the feeling that the veterans get annoyed when some new upstart goes on about how they're doing it wrong."

Hell, he gave them the benefit of the doubt. But he'd experienced a lot of unwillingness to try much of anything. Frankly, when it came down to it, he didn't have a lot to offer anyway.

"...The veterans always are. Something about power protecting power. The same thing happens in dictatorships around the world."

And while she hadn't seen much of it first hand, she was friends with those who did. No -- Claire's job came afterwards. When some rogue B.O.W. outbreak was done destabilizing a region to the extent that TerraSave had to be called.

"If this town has a dictator, I'd like to know who it is. I haven't seen him yet. Or her."

You had to be pretty ballsy to try and establish a dictatorship in a place where Superman could show up at any time.

"An oligarchy, then. An unspoken board of directors who seem perfectly content with playing the long game."

[blokeraider]

"Or a bunch of poor bastards with the saddest case of Stockholm Syndrome I've ever seem."

...Certainly the saddest. And that gave Claire a thought: "Do you think you could perhaps do something for me, Nathan?"

[blokeraider]

"If it involves your roach problem, no."

[otype]

"You do realize I made up the roaches, right? I'd have been long gone from the building if there had actually been any--

Look. You're here. I'm here. We could both be here for a while. Do me a favour and if you're still around and I start to slip into the delusion? Promise you'll give me a stern talking-to."

[blokeraider]

"I'll be sure to prepare charts for it."

[otype]

"Charts, huh? History books and charts. And Latin. You're a strange one, Mister Drake."

[blokeraider]

"Keep that up and I'll just wait and watch you slip."

[otype]

"Charts, books, Latin, and a conspicuous lack of kindly altruism. Scribbling that one down in my mental file."

[blokeraider]

"Seems you've got me all figured out. So what about you, Claire. What has you so antsy that you can't trust your life to eccentric billionaires from comic books?"
