Test Flight!
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Have you and Fayt noticed that your powers are diminished here?

He shrugged in reply to her question.]
Fayt's still got his Symbols, I've still got my fists. That hasn't changed, but we've only really needed them that one time we were out of town for a week. [Fighting a war that wasn't their's, no less.] I don't think the same restrictions are in place out there.

So, you don't have to fight here in the village then? That's good. [She nodded, feeling the warmth of the alcohol in her belly.] I'll admit that I'm not really used to peace, so this should be interesting.
no subject
It's....different, for sure. [He took another sip of his beer, just enjoying the simplicity of it.] To be honest, I haven't had this much downtime in a good few years.

I can't really tell the difference from you right now and you when you're on "active" duty for Maria, to be honest. Which, I guess, is a good thing in the long run.

[He scratched his head, still trying to work out where she came from in time. Her knowledge of his work with Maria was another clue...but, that could be for later.
He knocked back the rest of his beer and asked for another. Every once in a while, he figured, it was alright to throw caution aside for a bit.]
There's just not much to do in this place. Fayt's gotten back to his games...but even he's getting tired of those. I've been swimming, and making sure a few kids don't make some incredibly stupid mistakes.

As it was, she just looked at him, her smile turning a little bit confused.]
I didn't know that Fayt was interested in games. Isn't he a little...old for those? Or is this something about where you two are from that I'm missing? And I'm not surprised, really, that you're taking in children. I saw the way you acted around Roger and Fayt.
no subject
You can never be too old for games, especially since these are combat sims. Just program in a few monsters and you're set. Heh.
They were never quite my style, really.
--and let's just no mention Roger. It was hard enough dealing with the half-pint without wanting to grab him by the fuzzy tail!
[Though, annoying as the kid was, Cliff did go out of his way to keep him out of trouble...like everyone else.]
no subject
[Although, his comment about the Menodix has her laughing.]
Are you still grumpy that he called you an old man?
no subject
Tch. I ain't an old man. I still understand these sim games, unlike alot of those fogies. Fayt's not really 'training' in there, Nel. He's 'playing.' This is the kinda thing he did back home, if word is right. Yeah, it's probly how he learned to fight...but, you gotta admit, it feels nice punting a few of those beasts around.
no subject
No, you're anything but old, Cliff. And I wouldn't know anything about the kind of games you're talking about. I never got the chance to see them before you, Fayt and Maria left Elicoor, but I will agree that fighting can be just as relaxing as it is stressful.

[His answer. After the fall out of the Vendeeni attack, but before the negotiation at the Kirlsa Training Facility. They were definitely going to need a pow wow with Fayt to clear a few things up.]
They we're gonna show you those sims sometime. I don't think they're near as good as the real thing, for me, but college kids around Fayt's age like them plenty.
Life is smooth for them anyway. They probly crave the action, a little.
