[Let's not mince words about it--there are a number of things about the situation he's found himself in that Poland is profoundly uncomfortable with, starting with being surrounded by strangers and going all the way on up to the whole 'made subject to a whole new foreign power' thing.]
[But Poland isn't prone to giving up or despairing. He's less an optimist than he is goddamn stubborn, though it would be easy for an onlooker to mix the two up. And he's as determined as ever to make the best of his circumstances, which for everything else they entail, at least feature a whole lot less of Russia and Prussia and Austria than they used to. Count your blessings, right? When you think about it, now he just has ONE oppressor to pretend to get along with and ultimately win his freedom from, right? Progress!]
[And so he's counting his blessings on the side of the road near the middle of town, humming the main line of a song a little tunelessly as he draws something on the side of a handmade flier. The flier reads:
Join the Polish Cavalry's Troops in Exile! Bitchin uniforms! Sweet ponies*!
*supplies of ponies might be kinda limited right now but we'll get more <3]
[...And that appears to be a crude drawing of himself on a pony, kicking a trio of men in the face. Truly, this is the subtle art of propaganda at it's best!]

Whatever, like I'd be mad about that! As if, seriously... You've gotta come home when you can, though, 'kay? After I get my place back, if you're feeling better!
[There's not an "if I get it back." It's always a "when", with Poland.]
no subject
I know what happens to you, Polska. No. Feliks. You see the truth is... [He sighs before calming himself to explain.] There was a time when you were here in this world before.
no subject
I... I don't get it. That's not--I mean, I'd remember something this out there, for sure! I'd totally remember, like, the kidnapping and the wings and stuff!
no subject
It's all right, Feliks. Perhaps your memories will return in due time. Everyone who returns to Luceti has hazy memories at first and doesn't remember, myself included. I'm more than content to have you back regardless if your memories return or not.
no subject
What, so if they steal everybody's memories it's totally legit? This is way sketchy, and I'm not okay with it!
[He was happy enough to be away from all the obnoxious empires in Europe for a change, but at least they couldn't take his memories!]
no subject
It's only temporary, Feliks. And while I have heard stories of others never remembering at all, I'm certain that's not the case for you. We can talk about all the times we've shared together if you wish to see if those help jog your memory too.
no subject
Okay, like, hold everything--how long are you telling me you've been here?
no subject
I've been here multiple times for at least half a year or a year and a half. I've only recently returned again.
no subject
So like, how come you remember and I don't? What gives there?
no subject
Some believe that another version of the person that may have been here before is the one we remember, yet another from a different world entirely can arrive with no recollection of their time here. From what I've heard, it's only speculation however.
no subject
That's a total headache. Like, how does that even make any sense?
no subject
I've heard the theory of alternate realities and universes before. So perhaps that is what people mean.
no subject
[The wrongness of that idea hits home hard, and he finds himself staring at Fryderyk like he can somehow tell if he just looks hard enough.]
...You still love the piano, right? And you grew up at my place, at--at the house in Warszawa, after you moved from Mazowsze, and your first song was a Polonaise, and you loved my music, you listened to it in Warszawa and in the little towns, and you were totally brilliant, right? Just--just super amazing, everything you wrote, you were like nobody else, and... And you wanted to come back to me, but you had to go live at France's place instead, but you keep writing for me--that's like, the same, right?
[And, finally out of steam, he takes a deep breath.]
no subject
Yes it is, Polska. I'm still the same as you've always known me.
[He does bring up one thing though.]
Though I must confess. Where I am from, you're portrayed as a woman and not a man. Is that the same for you?
no subject
What, like, in poems and art and stuff? They do that to every nation--have you seen France all dolled up as Marianne? I think they're like, less weirded out by it that way or something.
Seriously, though, you wear a dress once or twice and everyone gets all confused!
[....Poland.]
no subject
Well I do admit you look rather beautiful in a dress.
[Oh, he said that out loud. Whoops. Cue him blushing brightly now.]
no subject
Right? Liet just says I'm being weird and acts all embarrassed, usually, but I make it work! I mean, apparently everyone kinda bought it, right?
no subject
I don't see anything wrong with what you do, Feliks. And I'm sure you want to get settled in for the time being, so I'll ask my friend Helios if you can stay with us. The both of you are friends too, he'll be happy to see you again.
no subject
Well, yeah--like, how can looking this good be bad, right? [He laughs, and then is quiet for a second.] I don't think I know him, but... He's cool with you?
[He can shelve his distrust of strangers for a bit, if Chopin trusts the guy.]
no subject
As I said the both of you were friends, perhaps seeing him again will jog your memory.
[A small sigh before he realizes that perhaps he should tell him.]
Though there is one another thing I should tell you, Feliks. But I'm not sure how to explain it.
no subject
Just like, spit it out, right? It totally can't be that much crazier than my day's already been...
no subject
When you were here last time... The both of us... Well...
[His face turns a bright color of red.]
We were together and in love.
1/Probably 4+?

I lied, he's not remotely out of flails steam yet.
(no subject)
Ok, I'm gonna stop him there.
I'm dying of laughter just so you know.
I aim to please!
