Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

"Winter... what?"

[Aladdin made several undignified attempts to shake off the team of Genies trying to measure him. It didn't matter how many times it happened, somehow a swarm of Genies trying to groom and primp him always seemed to catch him off guard.]

"I don't need clothing, Genie. The shop has all the clothing I need for free. I just don't understand how it can be so cold all the time."

[He still can't just abandon this bit, though. The extra fashion Genies disappear, but they leave behind a pile of long-sleeved flannel shirts and matching scarves. Asfor the remaining Genie, he looks exceptionally distraught.]

Oh. You want to know... about cold.

[He shifts to resemble a generic sitcom father, with a pipe in his mouth. And next to him is now a Genie made up to be his wife. He turns to face her in concern.]

What do you say, Martha. He's grown up so fast... Do you think he's old enough? [The wife-Genie nods. And then they both poof over behind Aladdin.]

Well, son, where do I start? When a sun and a planet love each other very much... that planet decides to spend its years revolving around the sun! But only half of that planet can get that sunny loving at a time. The other half? It gets the cold shoulder. An arctic one, even! Until it gets it's time in the sun. It's a very romantic cycle...

Unless of course, you live in a desert. Then, all of that is irrelevant and instead everything is [He trots around as if walking on coals.] HOT HOT OH IT BURNS!

[And then back to normal.]

But the deserts and here... [He pokes his pointer fingers together.] just not the same thing! So now, we're stuck with the cold. And that, buddy, is the story of winter!

"I know that, but I didn't realize it would be this-"

[Wait.]

"... Half the year? You mean it's gonna be colder in two months?"

[... He was going to die.]

That's right! [And then, he's over Aladdin's shoulder in the form of Alex Trebeck.] He even phrased it in the form of a question.

But look at the bright side, Al! [He goes into a particularly bombastic Robin Williams voice for the next question while donning a pair of shades.] I say what's cooler... than being cool?!

Ice cold! [This is accompanied by a rain of ice cubes. And the next second, he's an accountant typing into a typewriter.]

Think of all the activities you never thought you'd do! Snow angels! Snowball fights! Snowmen! Skiing! Sledding! Ice skating! Tree trimming! Licking frozen poles! We've got a whole wonderful world of winter, Laddy, and it's all at your fingertips!

[onejump]

[Al barely manages to throw his arms over his head before he's pelted with the ice cubes, scowling irritably as he brushes them away.]

"If I can even feel my fingertips."

[Suffice it to say he does not look impressed.]

"I mean, that all sounds like it'd be fun, but that won't make it any less cold. And anyway, there's already plenty to do around here. All these great people to get to know, worlds to learn about, books to read-"

[Not that he was great at reading anything that long and dense, his literacy was severely curtailed by his lifestyle, but hey, he was learning.]


"-All of which I can do without freezing my hands off."
