Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[He hated the local clothes shops. They were pretty...mundane, to be honest. So, in the vein of Senpai's encouragement back home to sell his dolls at his family's shop, Kanji had decided to open his own shop and see where it went from there. Surely there had to be a way to make something to keep those...wings safe, right?

Sitting down on the floor of the abandoned shop he figured would be best for this, he pulled the journal out of his jacket, flipped it open and started up the video.]

So, uh, yeah...I got a question? Anyone here tried to make something to protect their wings? And I don't mean just hidin' 'em under their coats and shirts. I mean, like, something that would really keep 'em safe?

[He figured it wouldn't take Kanji long to get some inspiration while here, but Yu thought it would be toward dolls, not toward their own wings. Hunh...]

I'm not sure if anyone has, other than what you mentioned.

[He left his wings out anyway, just... tucked in against his back real close.]

...though it might be cold later on. Maybe protection from that would be more feasible at the moment.

Yeah, but those are stupid things! I mean, wouldn't it be better to...I dunno, have something to actually protect the damn things since they're connected to us actually livin'!

[Whoops, looks like he's got a personal stake in this subject now.]

Y-yeah, I thought about that, Senpai, but I'm still trying to come up with some ideas that would work.

[It had occurred to him, of course; after reading about it in the guides, he had been a little more self conscious of them than before, worried of even snagging them on a tree branch. Eventually he had not been so paranoid, but it was still a worry.]

What did you have in mind? A harness?

I...I dunno. A harness seems kinda bulky and weird, dontcha think? What about some sort of...armor. At least, for battle situations, since I read that that happens here too.

[Yep, he sure did suffer through reading that boring as guide by that chick. It was slow as hell, but he did it, okay!]

What would you use for materials?

I dunno. I gotta figure out what's around here to use, yeah? Not like Old Man Deidara. No one's gonna just pop by with some strange shit for me to use in freaky "art" moments.

Uh...yeah. I wear armor over them, obviously.

[He's the heir of a textile shop. Of course it's a relevant question!]

Yeah, but isn't it uncomfortable, since they get squashed under that?

I guess if you're wearing metal armor like a primitive? Even then, you can pad the kriff out of it.

[Duh? What era are you from, kid?]

[She's from the Twenty-First century Earth, man! Thought you knew!]

Yeah, I mean, the padding would play a part in it, even if you weren't wearing all metal armor...But, I mean, there's always going to be some sort of discomfort when dealin' with these damn things. I just wanna make sure that it's impossible to get damaged in the battles that we supposedly get sent on during these...Shifts or whatever they hell they're called!

Drafts, you mean?

[A simple correction, but listening to him...he's just a kid.]

And as for the armor, where I'm from we make it out of a different kind of material. It's pretty much weightless, but harder than steel. I take it you're from one of those worlds that hasn't quite made it out into the stars yet, huh?

Y-yeah, those things! Whatever. [He's only newly 16, Kerra. Be nice to him, alright.] Well, we have ceramic armor. I think I read about that. Old Man Deidara made armor outta some pretty weird shit too and it was always comfortable and pretty light too.

[Now he's thinking about that old guy back home and wondering how to make stuff like that.]

Oh, uh, well, we got space travel on my planet, but it ain't nothing special. Just been to the moon and sent some machines to other planets?

[Her eyebrow lifts...] Ceramic? Right...not exactly what I had in mind.

[She tugs off the chestplate she always wears. Don't worry, she's not Morrigan...and she has a flight suit on underneath. Bending it a bit, it flexes like it's made of plastic.]

This stuff. Plasteel. And I don't think that really qualifies, that's just beginning to wade out of the kiddie pool. Space is a pretty big place.

[He's leaning closer to the journal to get a good look at what she's showing him. The ARMOR, not her...goods!]

Huh... Plasteel. That's like a plastic and steel hybrid, yeah? I'd have to talk to the guys down at the smithy. That would be interesting to see made.

[He pulls back with a thoughtful expression on his face.]

Yeah, I know that! I watch tv...sometimes! [And not just the Midnight Channel, okay!] It's just a recent thing on my planet. [Because 50 years is recent.]

Hmm, I think that would depend on what's going on. Do you mean like from every day things or during those drafts?

Actually, both! I heard of some people getting 'em injured in day to day things. Something light that wouldn't detract from normal wear is best, I guess. And something sturdy and hard to cut through for those damn drafts.

[See, Yukiko-senpai, Kanji is interested in more than just kittens and plush toys!]

What about light armor with padding? Something that won't hurt the feathers or wings but also have some cushion?

Hm, yeah, I might have to get some volunteers to help me test them out. And probably a healer type person too... In case of accidents.
