Test Flight!
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
Tokito Minoru | Wild Adapter
Tokito has actually spent a lot of time since his arrival pushing away thoughts of Kubota. What an idiot. If anyone should have been abducted by a strange organization it should have been him.
When Tokito isn't sitting at his table, sulking over his soda, he'll wait until the bar area clears out some before approaching and taking a seat on one of the stools. He orders another soda and does some people watching out of the corner of his eyes.]
B. [Tokito doesn't have much experience with snow, aside from the fact that it falls in Yokohama every winter. But to him it was a type of weather like any other. Not something to look forward to, or to enjoy playing in. Sure he'd seen a few Christmas specials, he knew what snowmen and snow angels were. But they had never been a part of his life.
Maybe it's because he doesn't remember anything about his childhood. He doesn't have memories of his parents bundling him up before he went out to play. He doesn't remember rolling around in the snow or having snowball fights. But that doesn't mean he wasn't curious about it.
So when he spots a group of kids engaged in epic snowball warfare, he can't help but stop and watch. A part of him longs to join in just to know what it feels like. Eventually one of the kids notices him and gestures him over. They show him how to roll the best snowball and show him some of the better places to hide. Then the match is on and for the first time in a long time he's actually having fun.
Until he gets carried away and throws one of his snowballs with his right hand, sending it flying past his opponent and towards whatever unfortunate victim who is about to be beamed in the face. Oops.]
B
GA---!!!
[SOMEONE JUST TRIED TO KILL HIM.
AGAIN.]
B
So he'll approach slowly, looking at the guy suspiciously (he doesn't even realize when he does this anymore).]
Hey. Are you alright? [His tone isn't exactly reassuring. But it's missing some of it's usual bite.]
A!
Makoto Kubota hadn't been in the village for long; just a few days, but it was enough time for him to skim through the silly little book that bore his name and collect his belongings. They had his Seven Stars, and the slushies were all right enough in his opinion. It was a damn shame that the proprietor didn't change up the flavors with the season. How else were people to know what holiday was coming up?
He had been slowly making the rounds as he learned what he could about the town, introducing himself with a smile and casually asking after a stray cat. Surely someone had seen the wild but oddly innocent creature, right?
Seventh Heaven was his final stop before he vanished for the night into some hole of an apartment in the community building, with only the standard issue sofa, a few scattered lights, and an armload of shonen comics to keep him company. He didn't mind the quiet, really. Polite
or impoliteas it was, he kept the slushie with him as he entered the restaurant like he was a regular customer instead of a stranger in this town. Idly peering at the crowd from over his glasses, it was easy for him to find Tokito. He would always find his stray cat.]
Hm. So this is where you went off to.
[Kubota approached from behind, the words so casual it was as if nothing had changed. No time had passed. They were still in Yokohama.
The slushie was still good in the chilled, autumn evening.]
A!
But that relief is quickly replaced with Tokito's standard frown and grumbling.] Where have you been all this time? You're late, Kubo-chan.
A!
I'm late? I saw you just yesterday.
[Deadpan.
Slurp.]
A!
[So he may have heard some things about differing time lines and such when he first arrived, but it was all just too confusing for him to understand. But if there's an impostor of him running around back home...]
A!
[sluuuuuuuurp.
Wasn't there something in the books that he read about this stuff? It all sounded unbelievable, like something out of a shonen manga or an old cartoon. Kubota thought he understood at least the basics of it, but he would need to read the book a little bit more to be sure of the facts.]
A!
How can you be so calm about all of this? This isn't a normal kidnapping! And now we have to worry about fake versions of us walking around back home. [And that slushie is looking really good. He wants some. So Tokito will just reach over and grab it out of his hand. sluuuurp.]
A!
But, maybe the game is just on pause. There's probably nothing to worry about.
[He pulled out one of his smokes and nearly lit up before he paused and glanced around the building. There were no other smokers.]
Don't tell me that this is a non-smoking place.
[Not that he'd care.]
A!
I haven't seen any signs that say so around.
A!
[click. puff.
Kubota looked up at the ceiling, as if he were trying to see the sun during a lunar eclipse.]
...huh. Maybe I did leave it on.
A!
If it's broken when we get back, you'll have to buy a new one!
A!
[The kitten was blustering. This wasn't new.]
A!
I mean it! You'll probably have to pull double shifts from that quack doctor!
