Test Flight!

the luceti test flight meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Ah, is there ever a time when Gilgamesh does not look sour? Rider can hardly forget the man, after all. In his previous life, he had been killed by the work of poison. It was only as a Servant that he had the honor to die looking into the eyes of the man who defeated him.

He could hardly feel any remorse at that. And though Gilgamesh may have a sour expression, Iskander's jovial expression does not falter for a bit, even though he remembers his second demise well.]

It is a new cask, a gift from our jailers. But I will admit, it does not come close to matching the wine you offered, King of Heroes. But it is the best to be found in this small village.

[At the explanation, Gilgamesh averts his attention to the large cask and approaches it, toeing the bottom of it with the nonchalant interest set aside for modern inventions he had only learned of through the Grail's handiwork.]

Is that so. [He doesn't sound particularly impressed or convinced, but does continue to give the cask--not Iskander--a look that implied he desired something.] I will be the judge of that.

[That is to say, hand me a goblet now.]

[Ah, well then. His grin widens and he holds out a goblet. He honestly does not expect Gilgamesh to be impressed with it or even care. But he's come to expect this kind of prickliness from the King of Heroes. Some might find it irritating or intimidating, but Iskander can appreciate where the attitude comes from.]

How fortuitous that we would once more have a chance to drink together once more.

[He refills his own goblet and waits so that he might drink at the same time as his fellow king.]

[Gilgamesh accepts the offered goblet and inspects it as one would some form of fine china, running his index finger along the edge before taking a sample drink. His lips twitch into a deeper frown, but he moves to sit across from Iskander much like they had done during the War.

It would be easy enough to ignore the mongrels who would wander through the plaza and stare at the two former Servants sitting in the middle of it.]

It has an acceptable taste. [There's a begrudging note to his assessment, as if he did not want to relent that there was anything appealing in the village.] I would not consider having to be trapped in such a small area to enjoy a drink fortuitous. [His eyes remain on his goblet as he swirls its contents.] Though I suppose it is equivalent trade for not being subject to a Master's whims.

[Not that he ever properly heeded his original Master.]

[He drinks and gives a pleased sound that Gilgamesh seems to at least be willing to continue drinking it. From what he's gleaned from his interactions with him, 'acceptable' is as high of praise as can be expected from him.]

It may be small, but it is life. One not burdened with the restrictions of being a Servant. And we have been given a new enemy to fight, one where we may fight side by side as allies.

[Sure, eventually Rider would try to conquer the world and that would make them enemies again. But he would certainly relish an alliance, even temporarily. He fondly remembers the battle with Caster because he got to fight side by side with such noble heroes like Saber and Lancer.]

[At the reminder of the war supposedly raging beyond the barrier that confined them to the village, Gilgamesh snorts and allows a half-lidded glance at the other man.]

So quick to take up the sword again, are you? Truly the King of Conquerors. [He takes another sip of wine before continuing.] I wonder how long that indomitable spirit of yours will last in a world like this.

[His words are complemented by an unkind smirk.]

[At that, Rider can't help but let out a roaring laugh.]

Ahh, that a world could conquer me, instead. That would be something worthwhile to see.

[Even as Rider laughs, Gilgamesh continues to smirk, amused for his own reasons. They were summoned to the Throne and kept in isolation to keep their souls in pristine, 'heroic' condition. In a world such as this, a mere human, even on who had ascended to become a Heroic Spirit, was susceptible to change and oblivion.]

It would be. [He agrees airily.] I have no doubt that it would be a long process. Experiments. Battle. Loss. [Long-term entertainment, if the world would not be a fickle mistress.]

Just so, you insult me to suggest I would let such things be my downfall.

[Because all that talk about him being a mongrel or beneath him was no big deal. That wasn't a personal slight to Rider, just Gilgamesh being... Gilgamesh.]

I would not insult you to suggest you would let such things undo you, King of Conquerors. [This time, it's Gilgamesh who laughs, though it's a much shorter and drier sound. By far, Rider was not the type he would wish to entertain himself with, but it would at least pass time until he heard more about the others around.

Having a book to listen to hear how these people talked to each other made people-watching that much more of an easy hobby, too.]

But the "choices" seem to be appearing here repeatedly or remaining trapped until you seek death.

[Such a dark topic to discuss with a smirk. But that was not unusual with him.]

A conqueror knows to wait and endure. If those are the only two choices before us, then I will wait until I can forge a new one.

[He did not relish simply waiting in this small quaint village. But its inhabitants intrigued him. He might even find the beginnings of an army in this place. And that was where the truth strength to create a new choice would come from. On his own, he had the power to do nothing.

It was these others that showed promise for him.]
