Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[girlverine]

[It had been a few days since Laura had arrived, and she was adjusting about as well as could be expected...so not at all. At least she had stopped tugging at her blood red wings from time to time to see if they would come off. Said wings were fluttering with barely contained irritation as she made her way around the village now, dressed in a purple tanktop and black leather pants.]

[She had spent her first day in the forest, and her second tentatively feeling out the village itself. So she knew there were people here she knew, but they were...different.]

[So she was avoiding them, if possible. And mostly failing.]

[She could be found still in the village, examining some of the shops, or on her way out into the forest to get away from people and clear her head, or sitting on the ground on the edge of town, just watching from a distance.]

[Nightcrawler's at the item shop, helping out as he occasionally does. He hadn't gotten to know her very well the first time she was here, so he was determined to make a better impression this time. So when he spots Laura, he pulls out a rubber chicken from the shelf and looks towards her with a cheeky smile.]

This is a pretty nifty store, right? You won't have to worry about ever having a shortage of rubber chickens! [And he actually grabs a second one with his other hand.]

[girlverine]

[Laura was brought up short by the voice addressing her, and her eyes narrow for a moment. The trickster, in a disguise and...younger. And not himself. And yet it was still him.]

[She isn't quite certain what to make of the chickens though, so she looks from one, to the other, and then up at Kurt himself.]

...I do not need any rubber chickens.

Hey, don't write them off so easily! You never know when you'd need one of these bad boys. [Putting one chicken aside, he holds the remaining one up as if it is a rifle that he's aiming at a nearby shelf. He looks through an imaginary scope while grinning.

She seems to be as humorless as ever, but the fuzzy one's ready to do what he can to fix that.]

[girlverine]

[The chicken-rifle is going to get a raised eyebrow and a slightly puzzled expression from the clone.]

...That would be an extremely inefficient weapon. It would explode if you attempted to put gunpowder in it.

[Definitely not a successful joke. He looks on bashfully while lowering the chicken.]

You... you really know your stuff. That's kind of scary to imagine. I mean, who wants to go out with a bawk?

[girlverine]

[...That, after a moment, gets a faint smile out of her. It's small, but it's there. For a moment. Until her attention shifts away.]

You are not wearing your hologram today.

[Well, she may think that she's hiding and avoiding people, but really, she's just blocking Roy's way to the grocery store. Not that he was complaining, per se... The view was nice from behind at least.

And...Havok and Hawkeye were missing, so perhaps he'd be able to...]

Hello there, miss. How are you this lovely day?

(Heaven Forbid!)

[Laura hadn't meant to be blocking the way, she had just paused to watch some people moving past. She knew he was there as he approached, but perhaps she assumed he would go around, as she makes no motion until he speaks.]

[And...he's addressing her directly. Right. She half-turns, her gaze considering for a moment before she shrugs.]

Fine.

[She's not, but that's the answer people want, and he's a stranger so she isn't exactly going to speak. Whoops.]

(They're all from the manga! It takes a while, okay?)

[futurefuehrer]

[Well, she wasn't the most friendly, but he'd met worse targets. (And somehow managed to date half of them.) So, he put on a more natural smile and shakes his head ruefully.]

Don't just say that because you think that's what I want to hear. I'm always interested in what a beautiful woman has to truly say.

(A likely story!)

[girlverine]

[Her eyes narrow and she frowns at that. Typically people left her alone after an answer like that. And in the grand scheme of things, she was fine.]

But I am fine.

(I have no coloring skill, Dal. This is what you have to deal with. =P)

[futurefuehrer]

[Wow, really? She was going to play that hard to get? Time to put the Mustang charm to the test then.]

Yes, I agree that you're a physically attractive specimen of the female form, but now I'm curious as to whether you have a name or not.

(Well I suppose I will manage somehow...)

[girlverine]

[Her eyes narrow again. He was hitting on her, she knew that...she hadn't survived two years of New York in the world's oldest profession not to know that. But why bother? Still.]

Laura.

[snikting]

Never figured you fer a window shopper.

[Says Logan who she probably heard coming a mile away, because he made no special effort to be stealthy in his approach. He was headed to the bar for his evening of social drinking.]

[girlverine]

[Hear, nothing. Laura could smell Logan at 50 feet, even if it was a different Logan. He was close enough, at least. She had stopped when she noticed him approaching, perhaps letting him catch up, or perhaps hoping he passed by, it was...hard to say.]

I am learning the territory.

[She explained, a tad defensively, as she turned to face him.]

[snikting]

Gotcha. [He nods at the bar.]

Well that there is the bar. The only damn one in all of Mayberry. So learn to not piss off the bartenders. In general, that's a good life lesson fer ya.

[girlverine]

I do not drink, so it does not matter what the bartender thinks of me.

[But that's not the important thing here...]

...Mayberry?

[snikting]

Old TV show. Talk to the elf, he'll be glad to introduce you.

[girlverine]

[She grimaces faintly.]

The Trickster. He is younger than he should be.

[A pause.]

And alive.

[touchofrogue]

[And somewhere on her wanderings, Laura might come across Rogue. She's sitting by herself, softly playing her guitar. It won't be hard to avoid her, if that's what she wants. But Rogue has pretty much given Laura her space since she's arrived. Maybe it would be nice to talk to someone with no expectations.]

[girlverine]

[Laura spots Rogue from a bit of a ways off, and as per usual with the girl, she doesn't approach. Not immediately, at least. Her path had brought her along a route that put her out of site from the other teen, and for a while...longer than she might have realized...she just studies her, listening to her music.]

[She was so different from the Rogue back home. At least, appearance wise, and from what she's seen, attitude too. Part of her wants to turn and just head in the other direction, but...she can't avoid everyone forever, right?]

[So eventually she moves nearby and sits down on the ground, cross-legged, just listening to her play.]

[touchofrogue]

[Normally, Rogue would stop when she gained an audience. But since she knows what it's like to be the odd one out, the fish out of water, the sore thumb, the... mutant, even among other mutants.

So she keeps playing, mostly autistic versions of heavy metal songs with a little blues thrown in from time to time for kicks. She doesn't say anything.

Her gloves are off to facilitate playing and laying carefully by her side.]

[girlverine]

[Laura is silent for a long time, sitting there listening. She can wait out almost anyone, honestly, and while Rogue isn't quite Rogue, she's similar enough that she isn't a threat. Probably. Aside from her powers, at least.]

[Eventually she shifts in her spot. It's hard to really tell how long it's been.]

I enjoy your playing.

[touchofrogue]

[I figured, Rogue doesn't say, by some small mercy.]

[She pauses a moment to flex out her fingers.]

[She thinks the question over for probably longer than she should have, and then finally shakes her head.]
