Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Usually. [ he rolls his eyes right back down to his boots. he hated being treated like a child. he hadn't actually done anything wrong, until buffy showed up. surprise surprise. ]

I'm sorry, alright. Sorry-- sorry I never called. [ he knew it was as good as a nonissue for her. she had seen a few versions of him come and go she'd been in this bloody place so long. but this is his first time and he needs her to know he really didn't ever mean to hurt her. ]

[ a dam breaks, somewhere deep in her system. somewhere near her heart. or maybe else near her lungs, given the gravitas of her sigh. the weight of her exhaled breath. she pauses halfway down the staircase, and looks back over her shoulder. ]

I know. I know you're sorry. [ but thank you for saying it -- the echo gives her a chill. forgiveness seeps in. cold cold forgiveness. ]

...Okay. Alright. [ he breathes out, frowning. ] Good.

[ and it's not sarcastic. he didn't need vocalization of any sort of forgiveness, just her knowing that he done fucked up and was aware of it was enough for him, right now. ]

You've got a lot to catch me up on.

How long have you got?

For you? [ his mouth quirks up, she knows the real answer but he can still be a jerkwad. ] Til the end of this staircase.

Which could take all bloody day, at this rate.

[ jerkwads aplenty on these stairs, because instead of going anywhere near anything remotely useful or even halfway-diplomatic, buffy went straight for the pain: ] Did you know that Giles is dead? Was dead. Will be dead, from my POV. Hard to figure that one out.

[ well. straight for her pain, at least. ]

[ it works, of course, and he turns to her, absolutely slack-jawed. she wouldn't joke about something like that, and he immediately starts backpedaling the jerk. ]

Oh, Buffy-- No. Of course I didn't. We don't exactly get, well, anything down in Hell.

[herotypical]

...Lousy cable reception, huh? Unreliable mailmen? I get it. It's not like I learned about it until here. Hasn't happened, yet. Back home.

[ not for me. ] Not that I'd notice if it did. We aren't exactly...talking. Me and him.

[allbloodyhail]

The only thing on is Charmed. [ he's serious. ] No mail, no internet, no nothing.

[ he's sure he didn't hear her right, straining his ears a little more to try and pick up her muttering. ]

...You and Rupert were on the outs?

[herotypical]

Just a bit -- [ she hedges her answer in a way that really implies they're rather a lot on the outs. ]

Yeah, alright. [ said in a dry, he doesn't believe you for a second kind of way. but he's trying to remember to be sensitive. he had just lost jeremy, he knew how she was feeling. ]

What happened? To him.

[herotypical]

I dunno -- [ she says with a shrug that drips all kinds of attitude. ] He wouldn't tell me. Not sure where he sees the sense in telling me the what, but not the how. All I know for certain is that I didn't stop it.

[ yes, giles's last visit to wing world did do a number in on her head. ]

Buffy. [ he said again, reaching out a hand before just... letting it drop and continuing his descent. ] I'm sure you would've, if there was anything to be done.

[herotypical]

That's not the way he told it.

...No. [ spike was having a really hard time wrapping his head around this, and it wasn't the time-travel throwing him off. illyria had made that kind of commonplace for him of late. ] How did he tell it, then?

[herotypical]

...He told it like he was -- disappointed. I dunno. It's -- [ hard to talk to spike about this. ]

[ he lets out a shaky breath and repeats: ] I'm sorry, Buffy. [ because what else is there to say? ]
