Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Looking back at her, he could almost swear it was a certain Senator who stood before him. The same stance, features, hair even ...

But her gaze itself -- it seemed cold. Angry? Dark? Something.]

My apologies. I didn't mean to sneak up on you ... though I imagine you might be far too independent to startle easily.

[A slight pause and then --]

You look just like her.

[She didn't want to like him. He'd been the reason for her mother's death, for the deaths of so many innocent people. He'd attempted to kill her more than once.

But...That had been Vader.

It was hard for her to differentiate them in her mind.]

She's my mother.

[He took a small step forward and spread his hands apart in a gesture that was somewhat similar to a shrug.]

I would certainly hope so. I don't think the universe is ready for two beautiful, and yet unrelated women, with such a strong will. Being related, it's only natural that you'd have her strength.

Are you into politics as well?

[She tensed as he came closer, her hand drifting to the blaster at her side for protection. Not that it would matter if he needed to defend himself. Vader had been ridiculously powerful, the Force practically bending to his will with ease, no matter which side he was on.

His comment about her looks and will were tossed aside. She'd learned in the short time after learning that he was her father than she (and Luke too) had inherited some of their bad traits from the man before her.]

Yes, I was Senator of Alderaan, until Palpatine dissolved the Imperial Senate during the war.

[There were so many things he did not yet fully understand -- excluding being in this strange place -- such as his fully grown daughter standing near him.

But that was actually a minor detail compared to the question of 'what exactly had he missed?']

Wars cause people to act irrationally and do strange things sometimes. I should know, I've been dragged through one long enough. But, whatever happened, I'm sure you were a great Senator -- just like your mother.

[She'd spent her whole life being flattered by one sort of man or another. The fact that this one was her birth father was no different. She knew what he became, what he let himself become. However, she never learned the story of why, and that was part of the reason she had so much trouble forgiving him.

Even a younger version of him.]

Yes, I'm aware of the dangers of war. I've spent the last five years fighting in a war against the Emperor's stranglehold. My greatest foes, however, were Darth Vader and Moff Tarkin.

[He listened as she spoke, but his expression shifted at the mention of Darth Vader. It wasn't out of anger, but more so concern.]

Tarkin is working with the Sith? I ... don't understand. But the Sith are dangerous, and I don't like the thought of you fighting them or the thought of more popping up after we just got rid of Dooku.

[If what Luke said was correct, then when they were returned to their galaxy, none of them would remember their time here in Luceti. As it stood, she herself held all the power at this point in their relationship.

He already knew that she was quite possibly his daughter, so there was that.

But how much of their history was safe to divulge? Especially when he could simply acquire those video disks and see for himself what occurred. For a moment, she felt sympathy for Anakin Skywalker and when she speaks again, it's with a softer tone and an almost-kind look in her brown eyes.]

How much do you want to know?

[And how much history was safe to tell someone who could almost be considered a ticking time-bomb. He glanced away for a moment to consider what he should ask compared to what he wanted to.]

Your mother. Is she safe? If the Sith are still around, that means I failed and I ...

[He paused to collect himself and look at her once again.]

I promise, whatever happened -- I will fix it. I will keep you from having to fight in a war you shouldn't.

[That was a consideration she was taking into account. Did she dare tell him the complete truth? Would he know if she held something back from him?

She was still so unsure about how the Force worked. She would start small then.]

My mother...she died after naming my brother and I.

[Forget the sith still being around or all the talks of war, Leia managed to state the one thing he absolutely did not want to hear.

The one thing that could make his heart feel like it shattered into a thousand pieces.

He took a step back, not knowing how to fully respond. But he tried to force himself to focus and not lose himself. He still didn't have all the information after all.]

What? How? What happened?

[borntorebel]

[She swallowed uncomfortably, able to see the darkness that lingered in him. She now understood how close of a line that Anakin Skywalker had tread before he fell.]

I don't know all of the details, but from what I've learned, Darth Sidious's last apprentice, Vader, was responsible.

[As the words rang through his ears, the darkness threatened to creep up and elope him. He took a step back with his fists clenched. He did not like this. He did not like this one bit.]

... No. No. I won't let that happen. I will find this sith and I will destroy him before he even gets close!

[He paused still trying to keep himself from just exploding.]

I promise, I won't allow anyone to harm your mother. I will stop it.

[For the first time, Leia could feel herself actually sympathizing with the man responsible for so much misery in her own life. It made her feel so very old and tired, if she was honest.

And to think all she'd wanted was to take a soak in a hot springs for once as a reward for making it through Bakura successfully.]

Somethings, you cannot prevent. And if you did, I would not be who I am now.

[Wouldn't know Han or Lando or Chewbacca or any of the many others she'd allied and fought beside in the struggle to free the galaxy of the Empire's stranglehold. And she wasn't sure how much of what happened was a result of Anakin Skywalker's fall to the Dark Side.

She almost felt like crying, but she knew she couldn't, wouldn't show weakness in front of others.]

Trust me when I say that my brother and I grew up with loving families.

No one should lose their mother.

[He knew from first-hand experience. The pain of his own mother's death continued to exist like a fresh wound in the back of his mind. And he hated it -- hated how it constantly haunted him. If only he had listened to his feelings sooner, he could have saved her.

If only ... ]

And I will prevent it. I have to. I can't let this happen -- not to you, not to her. I can't lose my family again. No ... I won't lose it this time.

[It wasn't that she didn't understand that sentiment. Boy, did she. She'd been forced to watch Tarkin destroy Alderaan right before her very eyes with the Death Star while Vader kept her physically restrained.

But this man before her wasn't that cruel monster that had eventually found himself again. No, this was the real Anakin Skywalker, her birth father, and someone she'd never asked about and that Bail Organa had never talked about.]

My first memory is of my mother, looking both beautiful and sad. She was smiling, I believe.

[Leia's words were enough shake him out of the darkness, at least for the time being. He knew he needed to focus and so he tried. His gaze snapped back to his daughter. He was still uneven, but she was enough to ground him.]

She was probably smiling about how beautiful you are. I can think of nothing more which would make her happier than her own children.

[She smiled at his words, but it was sad.]

I was a horribly headstrong child. My adopted father reassured me that I got that from both of my birth parents. As well as my temper.
