Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub! Don't have one? Just dance your butt off.
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Anakin had been running through the forest, (or, it was more appropriate to say he’d been ‘expending energy,’ being trapped under a dome when every fiber of his being was screaming he, metaphorically, stretch his wings was a daily trial in not losing his mind) when he felt the arrival of another Force-user close by. He diverted his intended course to check out the new arrival.

He could tell right away the new arrival was a Light-side practitioner, and he felt no need to alert others yet. And there was something else in the Force, too, something telling him this person was… familiar? But the individual certainly wasn’t anyone Anakin had known before.

It didn’t take him long to reach the tree of the young man, and he stopped under the branches.

Ben would see a tall man with wings like his own, but black and dark red feathers instead. And a clearly visible mechanical right arm. And he possibly might see a family resemblance.]

“Hello. You’re the new arrival?” [It was asked directly, but without hostility. More curious than anything else, because Anakin did see that resemblance.]

[ Ben was on his feet in an instant, his jaw dropping. He might not have been present when Ghent sliced Artoo's memories of his grandparents during the Swarm War, but Ben had spent enough time in the Temple Archives after Jacen had tried to turn him that he would have known that face anywhere.

Anakin Skywalker.

Far too late, he tried to stop his shock from pouring into the Force. This was nowhere near as emotionally exhausting as encountering a younger version of his own father. Anakin Skywalker had died decades before Ben was even born, and notorious as his grandfather was, it was much easier for Ben to encounter someone he only knew from holos and reports than to face his own temporally displaced father. ]

Yeah, [ he said, almost breathlessly. ] It's -- nice to meet you.

[That shock, what Ben said, caused Anakin to tip his head to the side and knit his brow together.

Ben might recognize him, but he surely did not know who Ben was.]

It is? How do you know? I didn't introduce myself yet.

[ For being a Republic hero. For being Darth Vader. For coming back to the light, and proving that I could save Tahiri, too. For destroying the Jedi and helping them come back. For bringing balance to the Force. For having a legacy so important I wouldn't know where to start explaining it.

And maybe he couldn't explain it -- not in words, anyway. Instead, he took a deep, almost meditative breath, and let some of his admiration into his Force-aura while he tried to figure out what in the galaxy he should do next. ]

For what? [Not that Anakin didn't know what the Holonet said about him - the Hero with No Fear. But no Jedi he knew would admire him for anything he's done in the Clone Wars.]

For the Battles of Christophis? Or Bothuwai? Sullist? Coruscant?

[This was all a bit weird for Anakin. He came from an Order that taught emotional excision; not, for lack of a better word, this kind of indulgence and expression he was feeling from the young man. The amount of emotions he was feeling from the young man would have landed Anakin in a stern lecture from any passing Master.

Was he from Master Altis' group. Anakin had meet the heretic Master only once, briefly. But he knew they didn't approach emotions the same way as the Order did.]

Are you from Master Altis' group? [Of course, if he was, that still didn't explain the odd feeling of familiarity.]

[ The New Jedi Order just had a lot of feelings. ]

Never heard of him. I'm...

[ He trailed off, not completely certain of how to approach this. ]

How barvy would it sound if I told you I think I'm from the future?

[Okay, so this young man was from the future. Anakin could accept that. He didn't know much about the future. He knew he had a son - he'd met Luke already - and a daughter, Leia. But she wasn't here. He knew Leia had children. And... he knew that Padmé died... That was the extent of his knowledge about the future because everyone was closed lipped about everything else.

Anakin knew there was more they weren't telling him, but he was trying to respect their request he not press for details... trying to.]

That's something that happens here. Time is... different here. My adult son is here, but back home he'd not been born yet.

Who are you?

[ Ben glanced at his father before answering, realizing that this place had multiple layers of Skywalker family generational space-time issues. The only way it could get more complicated would be if Allana were here. ]

Ben Skywalker. I'm the same -- the kid he doesn't remember being born.

[ He didn't bother to conceal his sense of affection for his father from his Force aura -- or the lingering sense of confusion and concern about whatever had brought three generations of them here. ]
