Test Flight Meme
Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub! Don't have one? Just dance your butt off.
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
A
[The source of the voice is easy to track down, it doesn't take her long to find a familiar face. Kanji seemed to be wearing strange clothes as well, and it was hard to miss the large pair of wings he seemed to be using as a blanket. Were they in some sort of weird dream?]
[At any rate, she couldn't leave Kanji sleeping in the forest. If this wasn't a dream, they would be better off sticking together.]
Kanji-kun, it would be best to wake up now.
[She says it in the sternest voice that she can, but she's not sure it's enough.]
Re: A
Naoto, what're ya doin' in my room? This ain't one of...
[And suddenly, grey eyes fly open and he sits right up, hoping desperately that he was just dreaming.]
A
[Naoto attempts to answer the question before he can ask it. It wouldn't do them to dawdle here too long; they didn't know what kind of wildlife might lurk in the forest, and it would be best to find out where they were as quickly as possible.]
[Still, was Kanji blushing? That did seem natural, she supposed; he had woken up somewhere unfamiliar in a compromising position. Perhaps their first course of action, then, should be to try and find suitable clothing?]

Just the mere thought makes his cheeks flush darker and he tilts his head up to the sun filtering in through the forest's canopy.]
Do I got a pair of girly wings?
[This is a serious question, Naoto.]
no subject
[Still, there was something about how he phrased the question that she was still failing to grasp: "Girly?" Was it the color scheme of the wings he was worried about?]
You do have a pair of wings, but I wouldn't worry; it appears that there are some shades of blue mixed in as well.
[Naoto wasn't exactly an expert on things that could be considered "girly," but from her understanding, blue had always been a more masculine color.]

This ain't the TV world. This ain't Inaba. This is fucking Luceti and he's not happy about being here again. Especially with these pink and blue wings.
With all the grace he can muster, Kanji stands up on his bare feet and looks around. He can see the faint tops of some of the apartment buildings coming from the west, where the sun is setting.]
Great... Look, there's a village nearby. I can tell you what I know on the way there. But be careful cuz those assholes took our shoes and this forest is full of dangerous shit.
no subject
[Now that was a surprise, even though it would explain his familiarity with the wings. This certainly wasn't a part of Inaba, and even if the TV World was a more likely explanation, it still wouldn't explain their wings. How, then, did Kanji have information on this forest?]
At any rate, I agree. It won't do us to dawdle here.
[And she wants out of this dress.]
no subject
Yeah, because Naoto is Naoto no matter what. Just like he told her when they went to rescue her from the TV world.
Instead, he looks back ahead in the direction they're going and answers her.]
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is some place called Luceti. It's so fuckin' strange... Like, the last time I was here, I was with Yukiko-senpai. We ended up in the fountain. Yu-senpai was already here. And I was here for what felt like six months, but I didn't remember it until just now.
I heard you were here for like three years, but I never saw you.
[He feels the desire to punch something, like maybe that screw ball Adachi, but he isn't there and that's not going to help anything.]
This place is run by these people called the Malnosso. They say they ain't responsible, but they're kidnappers like that Namatame idiot. They run experiments on people, like the wings.
[Like your Shadow wanted to do to you, he nearly says. But he's not stupid enough to bring that up.]

[Still, she was glad that she'd happened upon Kanji first. Not only was his knowledge of this situation proving useful, but she was also grateful to have found such a good friend nearby. This situation would likely be much more terrifying if she were facing it alone, so she was glad she didn't have to.]
Luceti...I'm afraid that I don't remember ever being in such a place.
[It seemed pretty far-fetched to think that she'd been here before; three years was a long time, and she had no such gaps in her memory. In addition, she'd never heard either one of the upperclassman mention such a place. However, Kanji did remember being here before, and they were here now, so she supposed it would have been feasible for both Yu and Yukiko sempai to have ended up here.]
[The second part of Kanji's explanation seemed much more alarming, however.]
Experiments?
no subject
Yep, definitely looking forward. He is not blushing, dammit!]
Y-yeah, you wouldn't remember. They do something to your brain sometimes. It's part of their experiments and shifts.
Tch. This place is...fucked up would be putting it nicely. You remember how screwed up the TV world was when we went after Adachi? It's worse here. All these people from different worlds, like I saw some of those ninja from that manga that's going around some of the guys at school. Just walkin' around, plain as day, like nothin' was wrong.
Yeah, but that ain't the worst part. I was here when this really nice girl, one of the ninja, got kidnapped. Before, she was real quiet and polite. She came back... [Kanji's blush this time isn't for the girl at his side.]
She was pickin' fights with everyone and even broke one guy's arm for touching her.

[This entire situation isn't something that she feels comfortable with; she's grateful that Kanji's able to give her information, but knowing so little about their current predicament still leaves her feeling rather vulnerable. Doubly so once she hears Kanji's description.]
[She takes a moment to collect herself before she responds.]
So not only do they somehow have the power to make fiction into a reality, but they treat the people they bring here like lab rats. Lovely.
It is curious, though. [She sighs.] Despite both of us supposedly being here before, only you retained your memories. Why wipe the minds of some, but not others?
[What purpose would it serve? From what Kanji had said, he hadn't actually recollected anything about being here until waking up in the forest; if they didn't have the capacity to remember back when they were on earth, why erase their memories at all?]
