[Ooh, a living skeleton! Or an undead. Whichever term applies to this being. Rumplestiltskin is intrigued, so he strides over to the skeleton to crouch down beside him with a bright grin.]

O-oh-- good morning, mister!

[Emil turns towards him just a little, a permanent grin on his skull-like face, and waves one hand, a bit shyly. He's still not entirely used to there even being "mornings", but he hopes this stranger is having a good one!]

[He sure is, Emil. He sure is. His gaze lingers on the skeleton's eerie face for a few moments, before moving down into the river.]

Are you fishing for anything in particular?

Oh, no, nothing in particular! I just thought I'd try it out. Not that I'm having much luck...

[He peers down at the water some more. Surely there are fish down there. ... Oh, he's got it!]

[Might as well get that question out of the way first, especially since Jack considers this to be HIS Marauding Bridge.]

[Emil turns to look at the pirate with blank, unblinking eyes and a fixed grin-- he's honestly a bit creepy looking, to be honest, though Jack has definitely seen creepier-- and explains in a surprisingly young and gentle voice,]

One of my best friends used to do it all the time, while we were traveling together, and he seemed to really like it! So I thought there must be something to it, you know? So I'm trying it out, myself...

[He hesitates, and looks back towards the water, and there's a bit of a frown to his voice as he admits,]

I think it'll be a lot more exciting once something actually bites the hook.

[He points to a little cup of dirt on his other side, a few large earthworms squirming in the moist soil.]

But that doesn't seem to be helping. Maybe the fish are too smart, here?

... Hey! [Emil's face can't move, but his body language is actually pretty expressive... and he looks almost hurt.] That... that really wasn't called for.

Yeah, Giles just can't let this by. He steps onto the bridge to lean against the railing a couple of feet back from Emil.]

[Emil glances over, and answers, in a young, mild voice,]

I caught an empty tin can a while ago, but that's about it... I'm beginning to think I'm not very good at this.

Well, um, if it helps, I'm not actually sure there are, um, very many fish in this river. You, you might try the lake, actually, o-or the ocean.

[Here, have a giant Mermaid Princess for your fishing efforts. She's pricked her finger (very princess-like) on that mean hook, and darn, it hurts! Her lip is quivering, eyes are welling up, but she's not quite let Shirahoshi Falls loose just yet.]

Emil's first catch of the day is... pretty big, and also seems to be a giant girl with a fish tail, like in a fairy tail or something. And she hurt herself on his hook! Oh, dear, this isn't what he wanted at all...!]

Oh, dear... I'm sorry, miss! I didn't realize there was anyone in the water! Are-- are you all right?

[Setting the fishing rod aside, he floats over the side of the bridge and to her, peering worriedly at her with empty white eyes.]

[She sucks on her finger, hoping that will make the pain go away, and shakes her head. Small (well, small for her) tears begin to creep out of the corners of her eyes.]
