Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Slaps to the face do wonders to an Andrews man. He snorts in an undignified manner before reviving with a wince, vision swimming.]

Ow. Oww. Did... did you slap me?

[She checks his temperature as she speaks. Villagers react to the loss of feathers differently, some simply have the initial pain, some have a fever- she's given up trying to keep track.]

It was the quickest way of waking you.

[He seems to be slightly overheated, as if only just finished running a marathon, but other than that, he's fine. Oh. Minus the whole pulse thing. It's been symbolically muted to signify his immortality as a Night Arrow. Yyeeeaaahhh it's kind of a long story.]

I imagine my dad's ex-girlfriends said the same things...

[He picked up on the accent and the French immediately, so naturally, he countered.]

Je suis désolé, okay?

[Not hot enough to be a fever, but enough for her to double check his pulse. Which.

He did not have.]

[He didn't look like a vampire.]

Had I other means to wake you, I would have taken them. Shaking did not work, nor did speaking to you.

[She sits back on her heels, one hand braced on her knee, the other discreetly palming one of the small blades she keeps hidden in her shoe.]

Would you mind explaining to me why you have no pulse?

[echotaker]

I'm guessing... not paying the pulmonary bill won't cut it, huh?

[He sits up, wincing slightly.]

Don't worry. It's still there. It's just muted so I don't get picked off at work. Speaking of work---Lil'l! You listening? Mind explaining the wings?

[The awkward silence that followed worried him.]

...she's either ignoring me or something's up at HQ...

...So you are the walking dead and you have an imaginary friend.

[She snorts and waits for him to stand, knife sliding back into place in her shoe. Crazy wasn't always dangerous. And worst comes to worst, she can just yank out another handful of his wings.]

Still, you are not the strangest new feather I have met.

[echotaker]

And you're not the strangest Frenchwoman I've ever met, so we're even.

Byt the way, Lil'l isn't imaginary, as annoying and unfortunate for me as it is. And I told you, I'm not undead. My heart's just muted. It's still doing its job; it's all just a safety precaution.

[He sighs.]

The name's Michael, not new feather. And this little things (the wings on his back flutter slightly though he has no idea how he managed it) are the new feathers. I was happily semi-human before ending up with these.

...where am I, anyway? I was in a city last I checked...

I doubt you've met one with wings before, so I am terribly curious as to what other Frenchwomen you've met. [A beat.] One day I will print out a set of cards explaining the situation so I do not have to go through this song and dance every time I stumble across people new to the village.

[She checks the surrounding area, finds the journal with, as he'd said, Michael written across the front. Fetches it, holds it up for his inspection.]

Say hello to your new primary means of communication with the rest of the village, and with our minders. It is also something of a guide to this place.

[Adele flips to the back of the book, nodding at the guide written for new feathers, and the map of the village.]

In short? Welcome to Luceti. It's a village and bit of forest, mountains, and ocean surrounded by a currently impenetrable barrier. All communications through these journals are monitored, as is most of what we do in the village.

Wait, are you saying I've been kidnapped? But---

[Vacation.]

Are you absolutely, positively certain that I am currently stuck in this beautiful place with no means of contacting my employer and no work to do?

[Please say yes. Or Oui. Or whatever, just make sure it's yes.]

...Now, I think, you might be the strangest New Feather I have ever met.

[Because she has never met anyone that, right off the bat, was happy to be here.]

There is no way to contact anyone from your world. You are stuck here with the rest of us. And should you choose to do nothing while you are here and remain unproductive? That's...your choice.

[echotaker]

You've got to understand, miss. Where I'm from I fight Echoes 24/7 for five years without a break and then I get one month in the land of the living. Then back to it. I can't die by aging because I don't do that anymore, but no one said anything about not dying in a battle. Fighting's only going to get tougher. Here, look.

[He pulls his shirt right off, his pigeon wings fluttering in a ruffled manner, to display his scars.]

See how they look like burns? They're actually attacks from things like claws and knife-like spikes and things from Echoes and Ghosts. They have spectral forms that burn the skin when they hit.

[Michael puts his shirt on and rolls his eyes.]

There is something to be said for your honesty. I simply cannot find the words for it right now.

[He mimes plucking something out of the air, then dons a soft-mocking falsetto with a french-accent.]

[Alright. That was funny. Just enough for her to snort a soft laugh and shake her head at his antics.]

Canadian. And thanks. I do try to keep things interesting.

Canadian? That explains why you spoke- ah. You are one of those fake Frenchmen, are you not?

You're lucky I'm from Ontario and not Quebec or you'd be in one hell of a heated battle right now. It's not fake-French, by the way; it's different French.

Fake French, different French- I am from Normandy, not Paris. We accuse Parisians of being false Frenchman just as much.

Normundie? I thought you guys spoke like... Nordic or something.

We are just as French as Parisians. Simply less fussy, with a greater appreciation for the sea than fashion.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. Are Normandy-French as prone to rolling their eyes as you?
