Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.

While there are many who are opposed to the hunting of animals, Hubert knows what is necessary to survive. And that rabbits can make great food while roasting over the fire. Not exactly the way he would want to survive, but difficult times call for such measures. With his dual blade in hand, he will be going after that rabbit. His next meal shall be his!]

[Oh gods, just what is that lady wearing? With her chest revealed like that and so much thigh showing it's quite clear Hubert is distracted by her. But she also looks lost, which means it would be quite rude to let the lady continuing on wandering through the store like this.

Oh dear, just how does he approach? Excuse him, he will just be staring intently at her and her less than appropriate public attire all while clearing his throat.]

[Grune doesn't notice the staring, but the clearing throat does eventually get her attention. When she finds the source of the sound--what a nice-looking young man! --she gives him a bright smile.]

[While 'May I help you' wasn't quite there, he's willing to help the provocatively dressed lady. Okay, she isn't terribly bad, but still.]

[This is okay! A surprising number of her friends are perma-linefaced, so she's used to it. They do have their hormones under control, however, so that would be new.]

Yes, that's right. I'm getting groceries for Fenimore!

[Well, he has no idea who this Fenimore is, but he makes an affirmative sound while looking away. That much skin showing is too distracting!]

Do you need any assistance? Perhaps I could point you to the aisles the items you seek are on.

[Not that he'd be much help, but it's also better than staying with her, because he really doesn't want to keep staring at the somewhat scantily clad woman. -sobs-]

[No worries, he's officially on a mission now, which means he'll ask and get it over with... right now. And feel good that he helped a stranger. Something about doing his civil duty despite not being in his world. It's been branded in him as a soldier.

And that's a very lovely expression she's giving him, but his smile doesn't budge. He just pushes against the bridge of his glasses]

[Unfortunately, this is a surprisingly difficult question.]

[This could be a problem. However, if Hubert cares to look in her shopping basket, he'll see that her housemate provided a list--Grune has a tendency to come back empty-handed, with only half the items requested, or with something entirely different otherwise.]

[Someone else is at the grocery store today, also loading up on one particular item. Pao-Lin's pretty justified in her hoarding of spicy things, though -- they're the only foods she can remotely "taste" at the moment. If burning her tongue off is the only way to experience anything resembling flavor, then she'll take it. Good thing she never had anything against spicy food in the first place.

As she swiftly strides past the aisles, trying to ignore all the shelves of things she can't really enjoy anymore, Pao-Lin almost doesn't notice a certain blunette in one of the aisles.]

[When she does see Hubert, however, she has to stop and stare for a moment in shock. Could that really be him...? Well, there's no question -- his hair color is hard to miss, not to mention that frou-frou military uniform of his. But even with Toph having come back after a few months, and knowing that other people returned to Luceti every now and again, Pao-Lin honestly hadn't expected to ever see him again. Her stormy mood? Suddenly a lot sunnier -- ]

[And Hubert just blinks at her, his expression not betraying surprise in the least. Just who is this girl and why does she know him? Thinking for a moment, he tries to dig into his memories to see if he ever encountered such a girl, but nope. He's not coming up with anything. But still, he's not going to be rude either.]

My apologies, but I don't seem to remember you at all. However, yes, I am Hubert.

[But he will be insanely blunt.]

[That stops Pao-Lin in her tracks, and the smile instantly drops from her face. Suddenly she feels a little stupid for just rushing at him like that.]

Oh. You...really don't remember being here before, at all?

[She got lucky with Toph, really.]

[Now he's questioning this girl's sanity. Had he been here before? Then again he had heard mentions of it, though he didn't quite believe it. But it would also explain why this girl knows him. Taking some time to think, he pieces the puzzle together. Well, he doesn't think he could be mistaken for anyone else, so he decides to answer her question.]

No, I'm afraid not. This is the first time I have ever come to such a place, at least in my memories.

The pleasure is mine, Pao-Lin. [Though his voice hardly sounded pleasurable, he simply said it for formalities and nothing more. However, it does seem that she intends to be friends again. Not that he can complain, but he doesn't exactly know how to be social.]

[What a coincidence that you're at the grocery store, Hubert? Because Asbel is also at the grocery store! He's also grabbing rice, but he's not getting eggs, no. Instead, he's getting meats, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, and spices for curry, because curry is the greatest!]
