[It had been three long weeks since Vert first arrived in Luceti. There was the typical confusion, anger, helplessness, and so on that many new feathers with world-saving abilities have, but she's mostly gotten over that. Mostly.

Still, there was something about Luceti that really bothered her. Disturbed her, even. Something she tried very hard to ignore, but after a while, simply couldn't anymore.

So, in an effort to clear up this horrid image she had in her mind, Vert flipped open her journal and started a voice entry.]

Hello, everyone. I have a question for you all, if you'd be so kind as to answer.

[ ... ]

Do all of you know what a video game is? More specifically, an MMO? It's okay if you don't know what that is, though. The former, less specific question is much more important.

[... Sure, she was ending it just like she'd end one of her blog posts, but whatever. The journal seemed to be the same thing, anyway!! But please, Luceti, clear up her doubts! You can't all be from such terrible worlds that you don't even have terrible shovel-ware Lowee games with tacked-on motion controls, right?!]

[Station station station. Is even THAT from Lastation's influence? It certainly sounded like it, given the name and specs.

At this point, Vert is so tired of everyone having consoles with "station" in their names - and on top of that, this guy saying something that she sees as an outright challenge - that she starts to get a little annoyed.]

If that's what you think, then you obviously haven't played with any of Leanbox's consoles. I can tell you now that they are far more superior than any other console there is!

Leanbox is the name of my nation.

[She's trying to keep a mature air about this situation and her tone, but there's a very clear "STEP OFF, BRO" in those words.]

Uhh. Well that's nice? But the Gamestation isn't in just one country. Everyone in the world plays it.

Leanbox's consoles aren't only in one nation - that's only where they're produced. They're all over my world, too.

[cannoneer]

Right. So. What makes 'em so lean anyway?

[threesixty]

Their new, slimmed down model, of course! They don't take up as much space [anymore] as some other console I know can, but they're not so tiny as to look like a misplaced book, either. Quite durable, too.

[Because that's obviously what you wanted, right? An advertisement? Everyone loves advertisements!]

[cannoneer]

Who cares about size? Video games is all about the power.

[threesixty]

Size is always important. After all, you can pack more power into the system if there's enough space for it, right? So of course, this also means Leanbox's consoles are very powerful as well.

[cannoneer]

... right. I think I'll stick with the Gamestation anyway.

[threesixty]

[Vert frowns for a moment, but plasters on a neutral smile quickly afterward.]

Very well. I wouldn't dream of forcing something on you meant for fun. [ ... ] Although, I would like to see this Gamestation of yours some day. The name seems somewhat similar to the name of another console from a different nation in my world.

[cannoneer]

Yeah, that part's gonna be hard. Haven't seen one show up yet. In fact, no one except my pal Rob has ever heard of it. Everyone else is all about the Gamecube and Playstation. Weird names, right?

[... Those names sound hauntingly familiar and it's kind of annoying. She just smiles, though.]

Yes, those are very strange names. They don't even sound capable of HD graphics.

Yeah, they ain't. They're both pretty last gen.

Oh, I see. I suppose I can't be too hard on them, then. They may very well have some classic games on them that just wouldn't look right in HD.

[cannoneer]

Yeah. You take this gaming things pretty seriously, don't you?

[threesixty]

I certainly do.

[... Right, gaming is likely not nearly as important in other worlds as it is in hers. She pauses for a moment while she realizes this and then continues speaking.]

Almost everything where I'm from revolves around games and gaming. It makes up most, if not all, of our culture. [ ... ] Furthermore, I suppose you could call me a rather ... important person when it comes to those matters, as well.

[cannoneer]

[She looks a little young to be making games, so...]

You do a lot of tournaments or something?

[threesixty]

I participate in those, yes. I usually end up being the one to approve them, as well.
