Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

He realized that the grape had rolled away long ago. Possibly under that bookshelf off to the right. For a moment, he leaned to the left in his chair to see if he could spot it, but no dice. He turned his attention back to her and shrugged.

"I'm not crazy about the human condition. But the writings of a dead guy from seventeen hundred years ago? That's significant. You know, historically."

She ran a hand through whatever hair wasn't drawn back into a high ponytail. "I think I prefer to look forward. Seventeen hundred years is a long, long time to be looking backwards."

"Hey, you know what they say about people who don't learn from history..."

Fun fact: history revealed that zombies were a bad idea as far back as Francis Drake's time.

"See, now you're sounding stuffy. Which is a real shame, considering you don't look stuffy."

[blokeraider]

"Have you ever seen Indiana Jones?"

"I'm afraid you don't look like Harrison Ford, either. Well..." And she leaned forward on her elbows, catching the end of her chin between two fingers. Classic thinking pose. "I take that back. You might have his nose."

He mock-smiled back at her. "Well, I'm nothing like him. I don't even have the hat. I really am as stuffy as you think I am."

His outdoorsy physique certainly suggested otherwise, but she didn't dare tell him so. Somehow, the entire afternoon had devolved into a harmless game of conversational pranks and giving ground was the easiest mistake a player could make.

"I suppose that explains why someone might spend a day like today cooped inside a godawful library."

"Yet here you are. With Copperfield, no less."

"What, this?" She lifted the thousand page paperback and gave it a cheery waggle. "I have a roach problem at my apartment. I was hoping I could just drop this on them from about shoulder-height and do all of the extermination work myself."

Certainly, the book was thick. And certainly, she never really intended to finish it. But it would be a comfort to have around for a few weeks, pretending she was making headway.

He chuckled. "No no, you've got it all wrong. You can't use Dickens on roaches. Their hides are way too thick for that. What you want is some really weighty text. I'd suggest some Victor Hugo."

"Never. To use Hugo to stomp out the least of us? My revolutionary spirit wouldn't allow the hypocrisy."

[blokeraider]

"I'm just saying, if you want to oppose the roaching class, you may need the power of French oppression."

[otype]

"Having briefly been to Paris, I can already tell you that I simply cannot handle the power of French oppression. Or any oppression, really. What can I say? I don't like being oppressed."

[blokeraider]

"Then maybe it's time to put the books away and make peace with your roaches."

[otype]

"Or move. To be honest, I'm already getting tired of the place..."

Settling down was difficult.

[blokeraider]

"After how long?"

[otype]

"...Uhm. My first week was in that shelter they have set up for rookies. So -- I suppose that makes it just shy of fourteen days?" A self-conscious laugh. "I...travel a lot. For work. These days, it makes it tough to stay in any one place for too long."

[blokeraider]

"I've been keeping all my stuff in a suitcase. It feels more homey that way." He had to find the suitcase first, but he'd lived his entire life out of a suitcase. Sometimes even less. When you lived your life as basically an international thief and grave robber, it didn't lend much to home life.

Homey. An odd word to associate with a suitcase, and yet -- "I know exactly what you mean."

Claire thought about procuring herself a suitcase. It might feel a little better than hanging the couple of spare outfits in an otherwise empty closet. The notion of transforming the space around her into something more hotel-like was quite appealing. "I just wish there were accommodations with a little less...empty space, you know? What I wouldn't give for a studio apartment instead of sleeping next to two empty rooms."

[blokeraider]

"You should bring it up with the management. Or maybe open up a bed and breakfast."

It was, of course, nonsensical. The idea of an inn where there were empty places to live all over the place, all for free, was rather absurd.

She fully intended to have a conversation with the management when the chance presented itself, but it wouldn't be about the lack of appropriate housing. It would be to question their motives as an organization and -- with equal parts hope and dread -- to demand whether they had any ties with Umbrella.

"I'll get right on that," she laughed. "Hey! Back on my first day I met a guy with excellent taste in cast-iron cookware, perhaps he can be trusted to form opinion on other breakfast-related paraphernalia."

[blokeraider]

"I wholeheartedly approve. There is a severe lack of eggs and bacon being served in the morning hours. And afternoon hours."

Naturally he didn't expect her to do any such thing. A woman who was always on the move and wary of superheroes was a bit more than your average person. But it was a nice though.

"This place has a restaurant, you know. I've been there. Don't tell me you've gone and got yourself blasklisted for backsassing the chef."

[blokeraider]

"The cook there is a gourmet. Five star material. There's no excitement in life if you're not ordering from a roadside diner where the eggs are undercooked and the bacon is bacon in name only."
