Test Flight!
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
Usopp | One Piece
o2. Sort of. If by "wing injury," you mean "some moron wanted to improve his grappling hook belt, tangled himself up wings and all, and is now dangling from a community housing window like a defeated piñata." Huh. Maybe he should start thinking about wearing more than just the overalls. Winter's supposed to be coming on soon enough anyway.
Ah, Usopp wonders if life from the ground has changed since last his boots touched earth... perhaps one day he will be freed from this prison within a prison, free to run once again. Maybe. He's trying to swing back and forth to work on that, though.
o5. HELL YEAH, BEACH PARTY. Whoever you... all... are. He doesn't have sailing right now, there's no open road to adventure and manly conquest, and treasure is basically worthless, so he's thinking he can divide some of that remaining Pirate XP to devote to good partying once in a while. The ocean is a beautiful place, especially to a very experienced and deadly pirate warrior such as himself. Or, well, it's generally a beautiful place either way, really. Even considering sea monsters and cruel criminal pirates and impossible weather phenomenons that appear without a lick of warning and decimate entire fleets-- wow, Usopp really lost his train of thought there.
He's eighty percent sure that he's never thought of the ocean itself as a scary thing. It's just. Most of the things in it that terrify him. Seventy percent sure? Yeah, that sounds right. He'll buff it to a solid one hundred before it makes the transfer to verbal relay. Kind of unfair of the place to have all that water and a barrier, though.
But he's cool not thinking about it. As a matter of fact, whoever the hell you are in the vicinity, it's storytime. He hasn't been doing nearly enough talking for his own tastes. ]
Ah, yes, the majesty of the sea. [ Oh, Captain Usopp, what an interesting and daring life you've led. ] It reminds me of the time my loyal crew and I fought alongside a tribe of warrior giants... [ So sorry about him.
bonus level??. OH, WAS THIS YOUR HOUSE AND NOT AN ABANDONED ONE? Usopp's bad, man, he wanted to stay in practice with his flag symbol painting skills.
On a few buildings.
The true question is, why not? Not like it'll stay there forever, right? ]

What a great day at the beach. ]
Unfathomable! At least a hundred feet tall each! [ Casually ignoring that that means they are kind of fathomable. He doesn't know how big giants actually are, all he knows is they're great in an action tale. ] It would take ten average men ten years just to forge their armor for them! And their vessel was even bigger: it was so massive that our ship got caught up in the currents following it. And an entire fleet of Marine battleships!

That's incredible! I bet it'd take me all day just to get up high enough to say hello. How did you make friends with them, Captain Usopp?

[ ...at least it's not the story about island-sized goldfish poop. ]

That's amazing! I like to think bonds of air nomads are really profound too, but that sounds very deep! I never thought about it before, but giant boogies would be really strong!

Oof, down she goes!]

You're doing it, Usopp. You are one step closer to getting yourself out of a fix caused by your own trial-and-error inventing method! Which is all to say, he is mid-confident laugh by the time he swings back down into the path. ]
Not that I expected anything less, of course! [ AHA HA HA HA HA ]

Smack. ]
-- ah.
yes 3/3
What has he done? Has he flown too closely to the sun? If the naturally instinctual shocked screech is anything to go by, then yes, yes, he has. ]
ARE YOU OKAY?!
1/3 RIGHT BACK AT YOU.
Aah...my poor head... OI! YOU! What the hell do you think you're doing, swinging around like a monkey?! I could have been seriously injured, you...y-you...

WAIT FOR IT.]

[Pointing dramatically, and possibly scrambling back a few feet, shocked and horrified and enraged all at the same time. Why, why, whyyy is he here?! Didn't she suffer enough at his hand already?!]

Rope belts are so much more dangerous than he'd been anticipating. ]
A- AAIIIEE, ME? [ Mimicking her voice: check. ]

What are you doing here?! Why are you even here to begin with?! A-And if you think you can do what you did to me before, you had better think twice! [Actually picking herself up now, yup yup. She's totally got this.] I could d-d-defeat you in an instant now if I wanted! So you had better not let loose a single nasty bug, you hear me?!

...nose.
NOPE. Should ignore you forever. Just gonna sit here and finish her shake and pretend she never saw you and GODDAMMIT while she wasn't thinking about it her traitorous feet kind of wandered her over to stand just underneath and sip noisily on her straw.]
Having fun?

What a cruel girl, just standing there. Luffy can make such questionable choices..... Swiiing, swiiing. Truly, he should seek Usopp's opinion on crewmates in the future to avoid this disaster. The Usopp Pirate Crew went traitor-free for years. ]
Yes! I do this at least three times a week! [ Now it's got to be a matter of principle. Jeez. ]

...well, more than once. :|a]
Well, in that case, don't let me stop you.

So, dare I ask what you were up to in order to end up hanging outside my window today?
[Partly because usually when he goes window dangling it's to spy on pretty women.]

And how are my windows? I hope they're up to the Great Captain's Usopp standards. [He couldn't help himself. Throwing out Usopp's name even though Vash is pretty sure the pirate didn't remember him at all.]
no subject
I'm a supervising Captain in this company, not hands-on repair, but I think you actually need a hinge oiled. [ ... wait. ] And I guess my reputation must be preceding me again! It's so hard for dedicated window inspectors to keep their heads down, after all!
[ Ah, the turns of fate. He's been so sure that his reputation for lying wasn't a village-wide thing yet. But gossip travels as it must, and if someone's calling him Captain out of the blue, it must have traveled to this building at least. ]

Oh, how nice. My house does need a fresh coat of paint all over. But you know, I'm more partial to the gray blue.

screeeeeeeeeeee
Life was so short but also sweet. There are some who could deliver a touching eulogy at his services, he's sure, people who will look back on their time with young Usopp fondly. True potential wasted, they'll say: a young man who was set to become the bravest of warriors. He will miss living, alas.
It's for the better that Law put his hands on Usopp's shoulders, really. He'd have been halfway to his place by now otherwise, laughing and learning nothing about the consequences of vandalism. ]
G- g- gray blue, you say? [ The color of death.
He could have said hot pink and it would sound like the color of death to this kid, but still. ]
