Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

If my attention's what you've wanted--[ she pushes him down the stage steps, knowing even as she spoke that her words were lies ]--you know there are better ways to get it than this.

[ except buffy summers has been ignoring spike for the better part of a week. ]

Oh yeah? Like what, then? Pitching rocks at your window?

[ the cruel smile comes back even as he allows himself to be marched. he's not putting in even one ounce of fight. ]

I have a journal. You have a journal. We could be civilized adults about this. For once.

[ she weaves him around the tables. ]

[ at least the 'we' seemed to imply the immaturity award didn't go to spike in full, though he wasn't sure how much of a solace that really was. ]

Like you would've answered. [ he knocks his shoulder into hers to try and get free, suddenly not liking the idea of her touching him. or maybe he wants to retain what little dignity he has left. either way. ]

Like you would've ever tried. Nope. Always gotta do the big stupid stuff, just to get my attention. If I didn't know any better...

[ she's interrupted by his sudden jostling and so meets his rebellion with a hard shove into the landing at the top of the stairs. cloud nine, after all, is situated on the top floor of a building. and it's a steep staircase between here and the ground level. ]

[ he'd be totally fine rolling down the stairs and she knows it, but he just wrests his hands free after the stumble, glaring over at her and rubbing at his wrists. so maybe not fine, but he'd survive it. a lot easier than this conversation by a mile. ]

Everything's about you, all the time. Do you even hear yourself?

Need I remind you about who brought up whose name on a freaking stage? God -- I'm not the one making this about me, Spike. You are.

[ a soft breath; a long-suffering roll of her eyes. ] You always have.

[ he opened his mouth to snap back at her, then quickly deflated. this was no fun, not at all. ] Yeah, well... just don't ignore me anymore, alright?

[ how supercalifrextra lame of him tbqh, but what else was there? he just didn't want to be forgotten, no matter who she was dating. ]

[ is this real life? is this really happening? buffy crosses her arms over her chest, rocking back on her heels. there she stands -- between the club's door and spike. the stairs careen off to their left. ]

Don't tell me big bad Bill the Bloody's feelings are bruised?

I do have them, you know. [ he shook his head and started down the stairs without waiting for her, this was stupid and he felt like a teenager in one of those 80s movies. ] Feelings.

[ he rolled his eyes inwardly and turned back towards her, looking up from a few steps down. ] Can't really blame you though, can I? It would be hypocritical and then some.

Idiotically so.

[ hypocritical. buffy feels petty to be thinking it at all, but it's hard not to remember that spike poofed back into existence without so much as sending a card. and why should he have? hadn't they closed the chapter on their doomed association with burning hands and a lie that may still have been half true?

but every time he shows up, she feels the old grudge rise in the back of her throat. ] Come on. Let's get the hell out of here. Even the stairwell is unbelievably stuffy.

[ it was a cruel way of saying walk with me. ]

[ flipping back around, he started descending the stairs again, wings drawn in close to his body as he watched his boots take each step. ]

I was a coward. Always have been when it came to you, huh.

[ yeah wow he's drunk. oh well #yolo ]

Turns out that's a thing most men are.

[ or just that she only seems to end up involved with cowards. somehow. ]

[ wowowowowowo he does not want to hear about her other man drama right now. or ever. but mostly now. ]

Ever think it might be a problem with the user? [ even so, it was an unnecessary comment and he knew it. but he's hurt and expressing himself, dammit. ]

...I despise you -- [ the words are out before she can think them through. before she can chastise herself.

and all that left, once the syllables are said, is regret. ]

Yeah. [ he grunts, dismissive, winding in on himself even more. this staircase is so damn long and he's tempted to pitch himself off it so he doesn't have to walk with her like this anymore. ] You've made that abundantly clear.

Not quite so clear as some of the things you've seen fit to clarify. What the hell was up with that speech back there?

[ the scathing look he shoots her says it all really: you know what it was about. maybe not all the specifics, but she did know. she knew how he felt because she herself had felt it. ]

Can I go back to Hell now, please? One way ticket, do not pass go, all the bloody way back. Charmed is the only thing on television, but you know something? I'd take it over this any day of the week.

[herotypical]

[ she starts down the stairs -- arms still crossed. ]

...Sad. Super duper sad.

Usually. [ he rolls his eyes right back down to his boots. he hated being treated like a child. he hadn't actually done anything wrong, until buffy showed up. surprise surprise. ]

I'm sorry, alright. Sorry-- sorry I never called. [ he knew it was as good as a nonissue for her. she had seen a few versions of him come and go she'd been in this bloody place so long. but this is his first time and he needs her to know he really didn't ever mean to hurt her. ]

[herotypical]

[ a dam breaks, somewhere deep in her system. somewhere near her heart. or maybe else near her lungs, given the gravitas of her sigh. the weight of her exhaled breath. she pauses halfway down the staircase, and looks back over her shoulder. ]

I know. I know you're sorry. [ but thank you for saying it -- the echo gives her a chill. forgiveness seeps in. cold cold forgiveness. ]

[allbloodyhail]

...Okay. Alright. [ he breathes out, frowning. ] Good.

[ and it's not sarcastic. he didn't need vocalization of any sort of forgiveness, just her knowing that he done fucked up and was aware of it was enough for him, right now. ]

For you? [ his mouth quirks up, she knows the real answer but he can still be a jerkwad. ] Til the end of this staircase.

Which could take all bloody day, at this rate.

[ jerkwads aplenty on these stairs, because instead of going anywhere near anything remotely useful or even halfway-diplomatic, buffy went straight for the pain: ] Did you know that Giles is dead? Was dead. Will be dead, from my POV. Hard to figure that one out.
