Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub! Don't have one? Just dance your butt off.
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Option 1: Is that supposed to bend that way?

[ Ivan's crouched on the ground holding a hand to his left shoulder. His left wing bends at an awkward angle from a practice gone wrong. He lets out a wince as he tries to move. How can it hurt so much? They really weren't kidding. Given time, he'll try to hobble up to his feet in search of a clinic, but it hurts to move right now. ]

Option 2: Bullseye!

[ Ivan is visiting Good Spirits but not for the drinks. There's a dart board hanging on the wall, and as other patrons are enjoying their alcohol, Ivan tosses dart after dart. He has very good aim, hitting the bullseye each time but not thinking much of it. He takes a few steps further back from where he once stood after he retrieves the three darts from the board. Soon, he's over halfway across the bar and still managing to hit his mark.

And so focused on throwing the darts, Ivan may not realize he as company. ]

[ Sailor is not one for drinks, as it were, but he views Good Spirits as a place of gathering to meet others. Today, his attention is drawn to the dart board and the precision and accuracy with which the boy hits his mark more than once.

Such an accomplishment deserves praise, doesn't it? Abandoning his seat at the counter, Sailor approaches Ivan from the side as another dart is thrown. ]

Oh! Amazing! That's what we call "hitting the bullseye," yes?

E-Eh?

[ Ivan halts mid throw and spins around to address the voice. He suddenly feels rather conscious of himself. Oh, and he's... further away than he thought too. ]

U-Um, yes. That's what the middle of the target's called.

[ With his gaze still on Ivan, he gestures to the darts in the aforementioned bullseye. ]

And those are darts. Do you do this often?

It's a hobby I picked up at home. Um, something to pass the time.

[ He returns looking towards the dartboard. This isn't that big of deal. It's not like he's practicing his shuriken, and anyone can throw a dart. (Though years ago, Ivan couldn't hit a board with a shuriken no matter how many he threw, and his accuracy now is the result of a lot of practice and determination.) ]

[ Sailor angles his head in growing curiosity. Dart boards are indeed something with which to pass the time, but perhaps this boy knows more about them? ]

Oh, really? Can you tell me if the dart board has another function?

Not that I know of...

[ The only thing Ivan can think of that a dartboard might be used for is a way to take frustrations out on a photo. ]

Is this your first time seeing someone throw darts at a dartboard?

[ What a function.

Sailor nods, although the answer is rather circumstantial at best. ]

The first time for this level of precision! These are rare back home.

Do people not play darts a lot?

[ Ivan will forever belittle his own efforts. ]

[ Boy's too young for self-deprecation. ]

The ones who do play all the time. Most don't aim well with only their hand.

[ He's been doing so most of his life. ]

Do they use something else to aim with? Or... do they just miss?

Miss? Sometimes. Lately, using your stage art has been the rage.

Using your stage art? Do you mean throwing pieces that are on a stage or...?

[ Using them as the targets themselves? ]

[ "Throwing pieces that are on a stage"? What vivid imagination is that?

Let's see, what was that word again? ]

It's the "literal" use of natural power. We're attuned to the elements, you see.

[ It's entirely possible someone has the power to throw around things like a juggling act. He met a baby with telekinetic powers... ]

So, they shoot the dartboard with their powers instead? Like with a bolt of lightning?

[It could be that Ivan is too focused on the darts to notice he has company. ...or it could be that said company is a foot-tall rotund creature of mysterious origin and so is easily missable by most.]

Myu! You're really good at this!

[but seriously is Pommy even old enough to be in Good Spirits]

[ It's a tiny round creature that is talking to him. By now, Ivan has gotten a little more used to the oddities of this place, but he doesn't immediately look down for the source of the voice. His gaze eventually makes it down that way, doing a quick double take when he spots Pommy. Ivan crouches a little before asking his question. ]

... Are you talking about me?

[bemyused]

Yup! Pommy was watching since you started.

[It's only now though that Ivan had started approaching where Pommy had been hanging out with his milkshake.]

You've been there the whole time?

[ Ivan hadn't known at all and doesn't realize that Pommy just now came over. So, he wonders if there is a very logical reason for not noticing his presence earlier. ]

... Are you a ninja?

[bemyused]

Myu? What's a ninja?

[He can't decide if that sounds like a bad thing or not.]

You don't know what a ninja is?

[ How can you live life then? Or have the ninja in its world just that good? ]

Ninja are masters of stealth. They live in the shadows and come out to complete their missions with the greatest efficiency.

Really? [...] How can they see in the shadows, myu?

[And isn't it scary to be in the dark all the time?]

Their eyesight is really good. Darkness and distance aren't a problem for them. They could hit a target from very far away.
