Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Merida | Brave

[Anyone want a Scottish princess? Merida's new and nervous but brave (duh), so she's determined to explore today. She can be found doing any of the following things:

1) Poking around the village outskirts, being all suspicious-like;
2) Shooting arrows at handmade targets in the trees;
3) Riding her enormous horse, Angus, anywhere she pleases;
4) Doing #2 and #3 at the same time LIKE A TOTAL BOSS

[And Fergus is riding near her in another horse (maybe one borrowed from the stables because I CAN'T REMEMBER IF HE HAS ONE) with his own bow in hand. He set up quite the obstacle course for her and is there to see it through - and to spice things up with occasion competition.]

Doin' great so far, lass!

[tumshie]

You haven't seen anythin' yet, Dad!

[She grins proudly, unashamed of her unladylike success, guiding Angus effortlessly with her knees as she dodges the obstacles spread out in the woods. It may be a new place, filled with strange people, but that doesn't mean she's going to either ignore her training or resist the urge to have some fun.]

[Of course not. And now they are approaching various trees that have targets set up on them.]

Then show me!

[He readies his own bow to target any she misses.]

[Fast and skilled as she might be, there's too many targets to get them all, so she focuses on the most challenging and less visible to see about impressing her dad. The terrain isn't what she's used to, so while she hits all the targets, some of them are less than perfect shots, so around halfway through the course her frustration is audible.]

The land's too soft for Angus, he keeps losing his footing!

[mybearhands]

Aye! They'll need some training themselves to get used to this terrain! [He tries to cover the ones Merida missed, but his horse is similarly hindering him from being a total show-off.] Yer shots still looked on the mark, at least!

[tumshie]

We'll just have to practice until we get it right!

[Angus gives an unhappy whuff of disapproval at her tone - because she says it like she really means it, and who knows how long that could take.]

Of course, dearie! I bet we'll be able to clear this whole course without a miss by the month's end!

[dat hair.]

Umm - hello! Are you...looking for something?

[tumshie]

[DAT HAIR RIGHT BACK AT YOU

Merida lifts a brow. She can't really help it.]

...I might try searching for an end to your hair, but it seems to go on forever.

[gleamed]

[Oh, Rapunzel likes her already.]

Oh, there is an end! It's just a ways back there. Seventy feet back there, in fact!

[tumshie]

[There's no concealing her surprise at hearing that, for certain.]

Seventy feet? And I thought my own hair was a handful to manage.

[gleamed]

[Yeah, about that hair...Rapunzel can't stop staring at it.]

But it's very, very beautiful! Just so you know. Are you new around here?

Um. Thanks. [Hurray for getting compliments from random strangers.] I must be new, as I've never seen this land before today. Never had wings on my back before, either.

[Elinor rides atop her own mare just behind Merdia. She keeps a sedate pace for now though, trotting along the forest path rather than racing past the trees.

Every now and then she looks up to glance at her daughter - and call ahead:]

Be careful now, Merida!

[Uuuugh, she can't even ride without getting a lecture now 8|]

Muuum! I'm fine!

[It's for your own good dear!]

Are you certain? Remember that neither you or Angus are familiar with this land.

[omg let me decide that!!]

I can't get familiar with it unless I ride it, can I?

[Or in this case, gallop on it.]

Of course. All I ask is that you exercise a measure of caution, please. I do not want to see you hurt.

[Apparently her words of caution are interpreted as an invitation to pick up the pace and start leaping over rocks. And grinning in a manner most unbecoming for a perfect princess.]
