[Let's not mince words about it--there are a number of things about the situation he's found himself in that Poland is profoundly uncomfortable with, starting with being surrounded by strangers and going all the way on up to the whole 'made subject to a whole new foreign power' thing.]
[But Poland isn't prone to giving up or despairing. He's less an optimist than he is goddamn stubborn, though it would be easy for an onlooker to mix the two up. And he's as determined as ever to make the best of his circumstances, which for everything else they entail, at least feature a whole lot less of Russia and Prussia and Austria than they used to. Count your blessings, right? When you think about it, now he just has ONE oppressor to pretend to get along with and ultimately win his freedom from, right? Progress!]
[And so he's counting his blessings on the side of the road near the middle of town, humming the main line of a song a little tunelessly as he draws something on the side of a handmade flier. The flier reads:
Join the Polish Cavalry's Troops in Exile! Bitchin uniforms! Sweet ponies*!
*supplies of ponies might be kinda limited right now but we'll get more <3]
[...And that appears to be a crude drawing of himself on a pony, kicking a trio of men in the face. Truly, this is the subtle art of propaganda at it's best!]

please excuse the sort of tl;dr
Polska? Is that truly you?
There is nothing to forgive.
Oh my God, Fryderyk? God, get out, what are you doing in a dump like this? How's France treating you?
[It's really good to see a familiar face, and that much more so for one of his best and brightest, who'd spent too long already away from his side.]

I'm sure you heard the news of my illness, Polska. Though do not worry as I've recovered quite well.
[His smile seems a little sad as he quiet for a moment now before speaking again.]
It's so wonderful to see you again.

[He claps him gently on the shoulder, not as hard as he'd likely do with someone... less consumptive, and gives him a small, slightly bittersweet smile.]
I'm glad. I'm super glad to hear you're doing well!
[It's honestly a big relief. It's hard on him to have so many of his people in exile, after all.]
no subject
It has been too long since I last saw you. I'm deeply sorry for not returning.
no subject
Whatever, like I'd be mad about that! As if, seriously... You've gotta come home when you can, though, 'kay? After I get my place back, if you're feeling better!
[There's not an "if I get it back." It's always a "when", with Poland.]
no subject
I know what happens to you, Polska. No. Feliks. You see the truth is... [He sighs before calming himself to explain.] There was a time when you were here in this world before.
no subject
I... I don't get it. That's not--I mean, I'd remember something this out there, for sure! I'd totally remember, like, the kidnapping and the wings and stuff!
no subject
It's all right, Feliks. Perhaps your memories will return in due time. Everyone who returns to Luceti has hazy memories at first and doesn't remember, myself included. I'm more than content to have you back regardless if your memories return or not.
no subject
What, so if they steal everybody's memories it's totally legit? This is way sketchy, and I'm not okay with it!
[He was happy enough to be away from all the obnoxious empires in Europe for a change, but at least they couldn't take his memories!]
no subject
It's only temporary, Feliks. And while I have heard stories of others never remembering at all, I'm certain that's not the case for you. We can talk about all the times we've shared together if you wish to see if those help jog your memory too.
no subject
Okay, like, hold everything--how long are you telling me you've been here?
no subject
I've been here multiple times for at least half a year or a year and a half. I've only recently returned again.
no subject
So like, how come you remember and I don't? What gives there?
no subject
Some believe that another version of the person that may have been here before is the one we remember, yet another from a different world entirely can arrive with no recollection of their time here. From what I've heard, it's only speculation however.
no subject
That's a total headache. Like, how does that even make any sense?

I lied, he's not remotely out of flails steam yet.

Ok, I'm gonna stop him there.
I'm dying of laughter just so you know.
I aim to please!

That is a truly horrible picture. Please tell me that that is a joke.

Wow, harsh much? Don't hate just 'cause you're jealous of my crazy badass pony.

gaudiermore majestic, just to prevent confusion!]no subject
Did you mother drop you on your head a lot as a child?
no subject
[He legitimately doesn't seem bothered by it. Some nations have families, but they're mostly kind of adopted sibling sorts of things, and it's not really a big deal for those who don't, not the way it would be for a human.
What's your damage, anyway? Ohmigod, wait, like let me guess... Okay, so there was some kind of way-crazy freak accident, right? Like, I don't know, a pelican attack or something. And it totally ate your sense of humor!
no subject
There is nothing wrong with my sense of humor. I just fail to find you funny.

[He continues drawing, undeterred, scrawling a banner in the background.]
