From the barrier to the talking animals to self-repairing homes, she's lost track of the multitude of enchantments she comes into contact with here every day. Especially the wings. She hates them, but she's learned to leave them alone. Attempting to cut the left one the first day she was here taught her that. Her back still hurts every time she thinks about it.
But Gretel doesn't let wariness cripple her. Food is a never-ending debate: does she eat magically replenishing food or an animal under a spell to speak? Usually she settles for a combination of that and fresh food found in the forest and fields.
Today, she hunts in the forest. When she has three birds, she shoves two into a box packed with snow to keep them cold. The third, she cooks over an open flame. The roasted bird is left as goodwill in the bakery, and she takes a couple loaves of bread. She browses the weapon shop for her still absent crossbow. After a trip to the item shop to look over the shelves, she puts her birds away in the fridge of the communal kitchen for the housing she took.
At the end of the day, she'll be in Good Spirits, enjoying honeyed ale that reminds her of her world and her brother.]
